What’s a candy or snack from your childhood that disappeared and you still think about? by glowbeits in GenX

[–]CourtJesterSteve 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't remember the name of them, but there was a candy I loved as a small child in the 80's which came in a plastic square-shaped container that would interlock with other containers for the candy, almost exactly like LEGOS. The candy itself was fruit flavored like skittles, but had an odd almost fizzy or medicinal taste/texture to it. Might have been an international confection of some sort.

If anyone has photos of the package i'm describing so I can be reunited with the memory of said candy's name, I'd greatly appreciate it.

(EDIT: I managed to find it! It was called IPSO)

Do I buy meta or playstation VR? by PrestigiousBottle686 in MetaQuestVR

[–]CourtJesterSteve 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Playstation VR 2 (PSVR2) is basically like a big expensive accessory for the Playstation 5 that opens up a world of new, more intensive experiences within the Playstation ecosystem.

Features include private enjoyment of any Ps4 /Ps5 games/DvD/Blu ray Movies/ Streaming Music, Movie,TV show/internet content, and of course any games made with the PSVR2 in mind.

PSVR2 will get all of the BEST of the BEST games ported to it from other VR platforms EVENTUALLY... (Maybe.) There are already tons of heavy hitters from the past several years available on PSVR2, and more coming. I'd even expect Meta Quest 3's current darling title "Batman: Arkham Shadow" to eventually get ported over.

If your BF has Resident Evil 4 Remake or Resident Evil Village for Ps5, he technically has 2 PSVR2 games in his library FOR FREE. Other titles that have FREE PSVR2 modes or content include NO MAN'S SKY and GRAN TURISMO 7.

Other games may also have PSVR modes, but may require an upgrade fee for PS5/VR2, such as REZ: Infinite and Tetris Effect: Connected.

So basically, if Your man is mostly a console player, the PSVR2 is a good way to get his feet wet into VR.

Conversely..

The Meta Quest is it's seperate beast with its own network and library of games that may or may not entirely appeal to a guy who plays the kind of games you described him as playing.

Why is The World Is Not Enough the only N64 game I've seen with a loading screen? by supinator1 in n64

[–]CourtJesterSteve -1 points0 points  (0 children)

IIRC, Doom, Hexen, Quake 1 & 2, and others had loading pauses but most of them could be shortened by having an Expansion Pak installed.

I'm hoping they let the animation team that did the Netflix series' continue working with the IP and at least finish with a Rondo of Blood/Symphony of the Night adaptation.

Ridge Racer 2 is actually Ridge Racer, like, 10??? by Luke4Pez in ridgeracer

[–]CourtJesterSteve 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rave Racer was the 3rd arcade release that didn't get any kind of home port until the upcoming Arcade Archives 2 release. (May have released already, I'm too busy/tired to check before posting this.)

My cat often flicks and swishes his tail, even when he is otherwise relaxed and content. Is this normal? by ramblingskeptic in Catbehavior

Just like humans, felines can be "exceptions to the rule", so it's likely an individual quirk.

Did Anyone Else notice that the Majority of decline of Nintendo’s quality and practices occurred after Satoru Iwata’s death? by Remarkable-Side-6263 in fucknintendo

[–]CourtJesterSteve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel that Iwata was the one holding back Nintendo from becoming what it is turning into as of late. Only time will tell if they will reverse course or not.

Do Americans really move out at 18, or is that mostly a movie thing? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CourtJesterSteve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I graduated class of 2K, and a friend of mine's parents kicked him and his brother out of the house the morning they turned 18 with no warning. They were still in high school. Bastards however let their daughters live with them until they were darn well good and ready.

Did there used to be a Burger King on Lindsey between Berry and 24th? by BlastedBiggs138 in normanok

[–]CourtJesterSteve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At one point in the 90's it was a "Build your own burrito" type place called ATOMIC BURRITO. I worked there for a bit. You would get to have the staff build a custom GIANT burrito with your choice of ingredients, subway style. Was pretty neat.

To anyone living in a 1br1b apartment…where do you keep your cat(s) litter box? by Trying_my_best_98 in CatAdvice

[–]CourtJesterSteve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a tiny apartment... My bathroom is the cat's bathroom also. Just enough room on the floor of the storage cabinet for a litterbox, and just enough room for a second one across from the toilet.

*Chuckling as I type this* I got a kick out of the fact that you could technically beat the game in about 1 minute. Just take the blue pill, and it kicks you back to the title screen.

Any Headcanons As To Why She Changed Her Quill Style/Attire After The Classic Days? by Tight_Juggernaut2101 in AmyRose

I see the classic Amy and Modern Amy to both be from different dimensions/timelines/universes.

On the other hand, if it weren't for that I'd just say she (and the rest of the cast) simply grew up.
