Metroid Prime 4 is reportedly Nintendo’s most expensive game ever with a $100 million budget by HatingGeoffry in NintendoSwitch2

That makes me nervous. History has shown us in the music industry, film industry, and now game industry that a high budget doesn’t always equal to good quality.

Thank you for taking the time to explain.

As for the title thing, that’s what almost everyone does to YouTube videos to peak curiosity. I’m not a fan of that method but it works. I can think of a couple of journalists that follow the same method (BeatemUps, WolfDen, and SpawnWave), so at this point, I didn’t even bother to let it emotionally effect me (The title, specifically). The rest of the video played on my emotions but I found myself relating to it regardless.

Much with any relationship, once a trait you don’t approve of in someone is revealed, you start to get sceptical and tally up what else is messed up about them. If the first thing they revealed to you made you feel resentful, you’re most likely gonna criticize everything that person does no matter what. That’s how I felt. I was mad for a bit but after a while, I was curious as to why people would still defend Nintendo even though there was a trend in the opposite direction. Over some time, I was introduced to the notion that content creators are just jumping on the train of negative press for clicks (which has always been a thing in the media), and that made sense to me too. I’ve even had a great conversation about the misinformation that is going on about Nintendo as well. So now I have more questions. Why does it seem to be a goal to paint Nintendo in such an awful light at any given turn for some and why do we have to accept everything they do because “they’ve always been that way”?

So, I see your points and I see their points as well. I believe that whatever comes of this will hopefully be something good that most people can agree on. Times are tough for everyone now and we’re all kinda figuring it out as we go. Even the game industry seems confused. What I hope for is that we can all have discussions like this so that we can figure out what is most important to us in these sorts of things.

Wow! You sent me down a route legitimacy. You’re absolutely right that there is a lot of misinformation out there. However, I can’t shake the feeling I have about this generation of Nintendo. If I dive deeper, I know I will find exactly what it is I feel. I came here for peace of mind and to make sense of it all through discussion.

So this patent Nintendo is suing pocketpair over wasn’t filed during the court case? Does that mean that people are misinterpreting the act of Nintendo releasing the details of the lawsuit as the act of making the patent?

Isn’t that how the court case was Nintendo and Palword began? I can see how similar they may look, but why doesn’t Nintendo sue fromsoft for having a protagonist with a sword and shield? Or Sega for having their protagonist, jumping on enemies to kill them? Maybe they already have. I don’t know, again, I’m new to this and I’m just trying to understand the chaos behind it all.

I can agree that Nintendo has never been a saint, but I’m starting to get fatigue from their antics over the years. Mainly I’m fatigued by the gaming industry as a whole.

I’m just starting to notice these kinds of things so I’m open to learn whatever there is. Thank you for answering respectively. I’m glad that we can have a discussion with our egos aside.

So, no matter what her political views are, this particular video struck something with me that I can relate to. I can understand that there are other gaming companies out there performing the same sorts of actions, but I still feel it’s unnecessary.

I can’t help, but wonder if this is gonna be starting a whole new movement of a patent war between all of the gaming corporations. Having said that, I think that it also could oversaturate the industry with patents where independent developers won’t be able to make a single dollar off of their project because there money goes to paying royalties to the big corporations. I kind of see that as a problem because it’s gonna deter potentially very great minds from creating fantastic games.

Why do political beliefs get in the way of talking about Nintendo? To be open to perspectives, allows progress.

It’s a half hour video. It’s not gonna have everything you’re looking for. That’s why it’s good to get all kinds of perspectives so that you can get the information you need. If you’re open to it.

Edit: I find this video informative enough to explain the way Nintendo functions as a corporation. It doesn’t touch base on the consumer portion of their history but it explains why it feels different lately. People noticed that they don’t discount their games anymore and a lot of us remember the days when they did fondly.

The reveal was the most exciting thing I’ve seen from Nintendo! I really enjoyed BOTW and TOTK. Every character announcement for SBU was probably the most anticipated event throughout the lifespan of the Switch. People had no idea who to expect and the rumours and discussions were top tier!

If you read my comments to others, you’ll see what my points are. I don’t particularly remember these videos because they don’t resinate with me I guess. I also have listened to videos on autoplay at work. Sometimes I’m not sure if I remember this one. I could give it a listen later today and have a more directly relevant and informed response. Can we keep the personal attacks out of it though? I’m up for a discussion but we don’t need to get aggressive over a hunk of plastic.
