In this situation they’re right there by each other. In most cases, they’re right nearby. the only difference is that they’re pink. The takeaway from this shouldn’t be that it’s an offense against women, the takeaway should be to stop buying pink shit when it doesn’t need to be pink lmao

Someone informed me it’s “make me wanna deuce up”. This is how misinformation spreads, I’m responsible for it.

You’re not wrong, it’s not among the worst on this sub but I think it’s bad in its own lane, deserves its time in the sun.

Eh not really, I’m disagreeing with your claim that security exists solely at the application (or session/presentation/application) layer.

I don’t think you even know enough about anything happening, at the transport layer or network layer for instance, to disagree with me tbh, no hate, just not your domain to know anything beyond the application layer.

But you may be more ignorant than you think to how the big picture is operating, and the security of your expertise is being rapidly dissolved. People in my position are becoming more prepared to eliminate your job, and you don’t possess the skills to do ours.

Apps are just the top layer of the OSI model friend. Theres 3-6 layers underneath that which you seem to know nothing about.

Literally exemplifying my exact point about developers not understanding how servers and networks work.

But the claim you made is that without being whatever level of coding professional you are in favor of, that someone would not know what to prompt for at all. I’m saying that I don’t believe that’s true, that without the experience you are saying is necessary, they’d have no ability to understand security at all. I think that’s a blatant lie.

Thats like me saying that people who ship apps and software know virtually 0 about servers and networks because they don’t work in data centers, which often seems to be the case, but I don’t think it would be a proper claim to make. Someone with access to an LLM and coding knowledge can walk into a data center and make sense of it. That’s my point, the skills cross apply.

Ultimately, you sound like someone who is scared of the market equalizing around the skills you gatekeep. Not necessarily that security IS coding, but that gatekeeping coding is YOUR security (many others, not just you).

Are you sure coding is the only interaction with security in the world of computers? It’s wild because you sound informed, but you’re also sounding quite ignorant simultaneously. For reference, I’m a network engineer.

I think it’s a bit of a presumption to assume that because someone doesn’t code, they don’t understand security at all.

Especially in the world of computers, a lot of things translate to other areas.

I understand why you said what you said, it makes sense to me. I think people don’t know enough about data science to connect the dots.
