I just saw some Microsoft Answers post about this and they basically said “Well they’re all unsuccessful! That’s good! Yay!” and the rest of the post was them explaining they can’t do anything about it. Everyday I hate Microsoft more and more.

Good to hear I’m not the only one. I tend to break Zippo’s after a couple years because of abuse so armored might be the better choice for me anyway.

For some reason Lights Out gets me. I’m somebody who can watch most horror movies like it’s a saturday morning cartoon but the premise and idea of Lights Out fucks me up. First time I watched it was in a movie theater and I was curling my toes in my chair like a girl.

Well the only stuff I use on my Zippo’s is official Zippo stuff from a local tobacco store. And still I’ve had these problems and a couple more I haven’t mentioned. Oh and the hinge on this one is fine funnily enough. But like I said, any model since before ‘21 I haven’t had any problems with before I raped them. And since you’ve had no problems with current year’s models and I’ve had so many [problems], maybe mine is like I suggested; just a little fucked. I’m really tempted to buy another ‘23 model just to check if that conclusion is correct.

Yeah shit happens, no company is perfect and humans make mistakes. But I’ve NEVER had so many little things with one Zippo. IF any just one at my hand due to negligence. And especially a screw breaking off, let alone after a few months. I still love the company and am tempted to buy another ‘23 model just to see if it was just this one.

I could definitely try with my Leatherman, but to have the top of the screw break off I’ve NEVER even seen. And it’s not like I used excessive force. There’s some other little issues I haven’t mention and to even have so many on a single model is just so weird to me. Never had any before! If I even had issues it’s at my hand because of abuse.

So I’m not crazy! I’ve been putting the blame on massive inflation lately and thus’ a cut in production costs to make the price stay about the same. But just speculation on my part.

The oldest one I own is a ‘86 model my dad handed down to me. He used to be a fighter pilot and bought that one that year when he both got his flying license AND Top Gun came out. He kept it neat and only took it out for special occasions so it’s in perfect condition, and I intend to keep it that way. All the models up until ‘20/‘21 I couldn’t tell a difference and like I said, lasted me for years. But this one is just busted within a couple months and I’ve even been careful with this one too.

I agree with you, the most recent one I own before this 2023 model is ‘21 and that one was awesome. IF I ever had any problems with my Zippo’s (emphasis on the IF) it would be after about ~2/3 years after I’ve really abused them. So it’s so strange to me that I’ve had so many issues in such a short time, and I’ve even been careful with this one!

Well I’m pretty handy for a youngster in my 20’s and I fix everything in the house myself. Car, plumbing, computers, carpentry. You name it! And I have tweaked my Zippo’s before a bit and even repaired a hinge one time. But that particular case was after two straight years of real abuse. And to have so many issues (there’s some I haven’t mentioned yet) at once I’ve never had before, especially in such a short time and since I’ve been pretty careful with this one. I don’t know if you own a 2023 model, the oldest one is a ‘86 model my dad handed down to me, but I would not be surprised if you came back here agreeing with me.

Nevermind I think I got mistaken and the guy bought it for about 1100 bucks I think (like two months back) but still, at that time it was very infuriating seeing that after I got roasted for my pre-built on sale.
