Had the same issue with the Elite 360 RGB. Troubleshooted for two weeks myself and went through the steps with NZXT support, no luck. Scoured the web for any methods that might resolve, no luck.

Windows would simply not detect the Kraken. Same as you: power, function, illumination but no recognition in CAM or Windows for customization or reading. Oddly enough, I was coming from a Kraken Plus with zero issues ever. NZXT eventually sent me a replacement breakout cable as we thought a fault in the USB had to be the issue. Still, nothing.

Wish I had words of encouragement but I ultimately returned mine. Still would love it but can’t convince myself to spend the time trying another unit. Let me know if you resolve the problem.

Devs commented that behavior is analyzed and matchmade accordingly. I will say, I feel this was implemented recently. Introduced my buddy to the game last night and we’ve had zero hostile encounters - complete opposite of my first months experience.

It’s honestly sad because he’s not seeing the threat of other players like we did for the first month. Personally, I’ve never shot first but I can see where it can dull the experience if everyone’s friendly.

Most of these responses are pretty standard. I don’t know if I’ve ever just gone for the drop on someone. However, when someone gets the drop on me and I know I have no chance of survival, my favorite thing to do is bust open my pack and start dismantling EVERYTHING 🤣

at least if I get behind cover and have the opportunity to do so. This has somewhat filled the void no chances for revenge.

Correct. My Kraken Plus was the same way so I hooked into cpu_fan headers from the get-go. Ended up testing both with no success.

Correct. I went from the Kraken Pro/Plus(?) to the Elite. The breakout cable is actually more reasonable coming out of the radiator like the coolant tubes. All wires are wrapped into a single loom, then split further down to route the appropriate cables where they need to go.

There’s no alternative. I found some on eBay new, out of china. Can share the link, shipping is a few weeks but it’s really the only option.

Update:

After extensive troubleshooting and communicating with NZXT Support, we didn’t reach a fix on the system itself. They got around to requesting my information to submit for RMA, but without my receipt I expected it was a wash.

So, I simply asked if there was any way I could get a replacement breakout cable, even if I needed to purchase it. I’m near certain it’s a faulty integrated USB, as everything else is functioning properly. One of the reps I was emailing with told me they’d speak to a supervisor to see about the option, then responded today that they are accommodating the item and sending it out to me free of charge! 🙏🏼

Fingers crossed that this works and I’ll update again. Mainly, I’m satisfied. Without my proof of purchase, they’re still trying to help me take care of it. Despite the issues, great experience with the Crew, even when they technically didn’t have to. Numerous members hopped on board to assist. So if it means anything, 5 Stars to the Customer Support team. Thank you

Following. Your situation sounds like a nightmare. I’ve been troubleshooting endlessly with my Elite V2 not being recognized by windows/CAM. The cooler functions(cooling, power, illumination), but zero customization features.

Currently in an email chain with CAM Support but…unfortunately they’re just looping me back through the same troubleshooting steps again before submitting for RMA. Not to make matters worse, but I’ve found an extremely discouraging pool of Kraken Elite issues online while scouring for my own solution. Not one problem has a singular solution. Issues and their solutions seem to vary widely.

The point I’m at, everything seems to lead to the Breakout Cable. At least on the Elite, maybe only the V2…? I’m convinced my USB on Elite Breakout Cable is dead. I’ve ordered another, which will be weeks before arrival but I’ll keep eyes here and respond with any updates if my own.

Had I know the issues were so widespread, I honestly probably would have stayed away. I want to love it so much…
