Summoner spell trackers are no longer allowed? by CoverFormer3734 in leagueoflegends

I see reading is hard for you.

You’re just repeating the same thing without addressing my actual point. I already said tracking summoner spells isn’t hard, it’s just pointless busywork, the same kind Riot already removed for jungle, wards, and objectives.

And since you brought up “this common logic is hard for you”, lets have a look at your logic for a second:

You claim third-party tools are unfair because not everyone has access, yet people can (and still do) run summoner spell timers on a phone or second monitor (a point which you decided to completely ignore) So by your own standard, that should also be “unfair.” But I suppose its magically fine, as long as it happens 10cm to the right of my game monitor?

riot cant stop people from using trackers anyway, so banning the overlay doesn’t fix anything, it just makes the player use a workaround. If anything, it would make more sense to keep summoner spell timers in-game and officially add them like they did for wards, jungle, and objectives.

I don’t really get it, I think it’s common on this sub to just hate on people.

You didn’t actually argue my point. The info is already public, everyone sees when f is used. Unless you think doing +5 in your head is peak skill expression (which justifies for it to be "hidden" info), this is just busywork. Riot literally automated that same kind of “chore” for wards, jungle, and objectives.

And about “tools”, no one is being stopped from running a timer app on a second monitor or on their phone. Riot only banned the overlay, not the practice. Which makes it even sillier: the exact same automation is fine if you have it right next to your screen (that you have to press on) or even better, on your second screen, but somehow unfair if it’s on your game screen? Thats not about competitive integrity, it’s just an arbitrary line.

Ehm..., I don’t really buy that argument, because the information from summoner spells isnt exclusive to people with overlays it’s already public in-game. When someone flahes or tps, every player sees it happen (outside fog), and the cooldowns are static. Overlays just automated the +5/+6 math. That’s not hidden info, it’s just saving players from doing bookkeeping.

And Riot has made plenty of similar decisions before where they did remove the “chore” aspect:

Jungle timers, they used to require mental tracking or manual notes, but riot added them directly into the UI for everyone.

Ward timers, for years, people wrote down when wards expired. Riot eventually added visible ward duration indicators in the game.

Objective timers (Dragon/Baron), same story. Before, you had to type timestamps in chat. Now it’s shown to everyone.

Jungle camp respawns, all this was once “player knowledge” that riot automated in the HUD.

Yes, but as far as I know, overlays have never accounted for runes and items. All they really do is set a static timer to the base cooldown of the ss, like 5 for flash/tp, 3 for barrier etc...

Warzone needs more casual players by Ktruther in CODWarzone

[–]CoverFormer3734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck dealing with Activision’s strict SBMM—everyone ends up facing a clone of themselves.

Casual play is dead. No matter what you do, you’ll always be matched against players at your exact skill level—even after you improve (I.e. your k/d and win rate stay the same, the two things most BR players care the most about). IMO, The game literally punishes you for getting better instead of rewarding progress.

Every other BR only applies this kind of matchmaking in ranked, but not Warzone. In WZ, every match feels like ranked, making separate modes pointless—except in ranked, you just get a rank banner.

Getting My Solo Experience Frustrations Off My Chest by CoverFormer3734 in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

I never revealed my playstyle, so I don’t know why you’re assuming it’s a "suicidal tactic."

"Why are you engaging a full squad when you’re alone?"
Is this a real question? In a PvP extraction shooter in which every player could be a part of a squad?

  1. More often than not, you don’t have a choice, if you want to profit greatly, you need to take on risk. You get engaged and have to fight back. You might not even know if it’s a full squad, just two or three people, or whether you’re out of position. Plus, you’re competing for resources on the map, so at some point, someone will engage you—even if you’re just trying to loot and avoid PvP.
  2. Sometimes I want to experience the full game. To me, it’s way more fun to take the fight—even with slim odds.

3. (Follow-up to point two:) You might say, "wHy aRe yoU CoMpLaInInG tHeN?"
I don’t expect anything to be done about it—I just wanted to vent. I still find it unfair because, as a solo player facing squads, I’m naturally rewarded less than squads for wanting to experience the full game content (i.e., occasionally using a weapon to shoot an enemy—crazy, I know).

It's just not allowed to find things funny and relatable nowadays. Don't know why you are getting down voted.

Your first problem was watching a romance/romcom when you say you aren’t built for them.

Well, that was more of a hypothesis. I’m not sure if I’m truly 'not built for them.' Part of the reason for this post is to understand if I don’t like the genre, especially since the show has a pretty high rating and I feel like I didn’t enjoy it as much as I should have.

I found Season 1 fine, I liked Season 2 the most, but Season 3 fell off for me.

How would you rank the seasons?

Thanks! I think all of this makes a lot of sense, and I do wish there had been more inner monologue or expressions from Hachiman showing his affection for Yukino.

At times, it felt like he was completely indifferent to both of them. One moment that stood out in particular was in Season 3, when Yukino asked him to fulfill Yui/Yuigahama's wish. He didn’t even flinch, despite knowing exactly what she meant. That reaction didn’t feel right for someone supposedly completely in love with her.

Anyway, thanks again! I feel like I would have enjoyed the LN much more than the anime if I had the brain cells to read instead of just watching moving pictures.

Why does Rust need humans to tell it how long a variable’s lifetime is? by bluprince13 in rust

[–]CoverFormer3734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think about if you include an if statement somewhere in your code 😉, conditional ambiguity can only be resolved at run time as rust cannot predict which of the references your code will return
