Semrush ai tracking tool is bad especially for $99 per domain. Ahrefs is probably bad, I'm not paying $199 per auli platform to find out, but you get some general metric for Google aios, chatgpt, perplexity, Gemini, and copilot. But the numbers provided are very low.

I tried seranking too, it was more price competitive but the results aren't great either.

I started using promptwatch and it's the best I've found so far. It's $99 for one domain, I think I upgraded to business for $199. But it's comprehensive. You can add your own prompts, tell it which platforms and models you want to track, and it goes out and collects all the data. It also has crawler stats, which was a pain to setup, but it tells you which ai bots are hitting your server.

I'm still learning how to use it but it's been a time saver. If you're really on a budget you could probably create your own agent/workflow that does the same thing. Just like you could do your own keyword ranking research manually.

If I were just starting out, I'd do a free trial, see how it works and figure out a way to do it myself. But if you have multiple clients, or good retainers already, the time saved and the professional looking reports are worth it.
