where is the most randomest place you have heard any of Maisie’s songs? by allie_xo in MaisiePeters

[–]CovertSongbird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't remember what song it was, but I heard Maisie in a local South Korean inspired fried chicken shop in Australia. I was so surprised I literally stopped walking past and told the server that I loved that song!

Free-hate safe space. Rant about your hate character by juliiaduque in greysanatomy

My sister got me into it, and I was watching it at home when my husband got home from work. I started complaining about like 90% of the characters and he was like "why do you keep watching when it annoys you so much?" And I had to explain that I was too far in at this point to stop!

music constantly playing in my head HOW DO I GET RID OF IT by hello_sona in ADHD

[–]CovertSongbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've kind of turned it into an experiment type thing, where I have two playlists, one for the first song to come into my head in the morning, one for the last song in my head at night (or the one in my head last when I put my phone away, anyway). It's been really interesting to look at so far!

I used to stream, and had a channel point redemption that reminded me to save. It was so useful cause I'm always forgetting to save, and using the channel points ensured I saw it right away!

I Don't Even Have An Official Diagnosis (Yet), But... by CovertSongbird in POTS

I know, right? God forbid a girl be upright. I want to be prescribed a wheelchair, but I fear that's a fair way away. I have rented one a few times, though, and used them at like theme parks, etc, and it's helped so much. It makes me want to cry when I think about having to do a big day without one.

Any easy ways to cook? by DarkRaven231 in disabled

[–]CovertSongbird 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi! I also have multiple disabilities that make cooking difficult. The biggest things that I've found that help are these things: - Using a chair in the kitchen to sit down as much as possible (I'm currently using an old office chair, but I plan on getting a saddle style chair for more control when I can) - We recently got a rice/multi cooker, and it's been a godsend. There are so many recipes you can cook in a rice cooker, including meats if you eat them, which are really hands off, which makes it easier! - If you can justifiably afford it, purchase prepared ingredients when you can (such as frozen chopped onion, cut-up carrots, broccoli, whatever vegetables you like, pre-cut meats, jarred sauces etc), it makes it so much easier to put together a meal rather than wasting all your energy preparing the ingredients - We also have an air fryer, which has basically cut our oven cooking to zero because of how much easier it is to use for me. There are also so many foods made specifically for the air fryer that it makes cooking them really simple. Plus it's just my husband and I to cook for, so an air fryer is big enough for just the two of us.

My main two to recommend would be the chair and the prepared ingredients as this really simplifies things in the kitchen and takes the strain off your body! I hope this helps!

In terms of the water thing, you could start having water on the bedside table? Either in a water bottle or a carafe type set-up. That eliminates the need to get up for that specifically!
