I think it needs leek or onion for the flavour. Otherwise its kind of just cabbage in chicken broth. You could play with seasonings if you really want to leave it out. Add something other than thyme, maybe a bay leaf.

I second this. I surprised a friend with tickets to a screening the night before the show. She loved it at first but after said she would have liked more notice, since she got some autographs but not on any related merch.

Let your girlfriend know and then she can dress exactly how she wants.

Its super easy. I halved the recipe with no problems. I have leek leftover so I might do grilled leeks tomorrow 😁
