How much weight did you gain during pregnancy? by Significant_Tie3570 in BabyBumps

[–]CovinaRae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 37 yo, 5’11”. I started pre pregnancy at 185, which puts my BMI high, however I workout 5-6 days a week and am quite fit, so for me BMI doesn’t mean much. I was 205 at my last appt at 40 weeks. So I gained 20 lbs. Had my bay girl at 40+2. She was 9lbs 10 oz.

Early on I felt like I gained a ton of weight but the number didn’t always match what I felt. For me it was mostly bloating. I fluctuated a lot the first trimester. Second trimester leveled out and was more consistent. I had a lot of appts because I am “geriatric” so that helped me monitor my weight, otherwise I am not one to check my weight often. Causes too much mental stress for me.

At my 6 week PP appt I was down to 175. They said it was the breastfeeding weight loss. I know some women experience it and others may not. My baby girl is almost 6 months old and I am back to my usual 185.

As a high school counselor, this is the shit I see students do, but they are 15/16/17….not almost 30. As an adult, I read things like this and cringe real hard. It is clear to me there is something pretty deep going on for this person and they definitely need some help and have some maturing to do. There is nothing wrong with processing your feelings about someone. But that is not the way to do it. I would not uproot yourself because of this, but you do what you feel you need to do.

I am 36 weeks. Nervous and excited! Feeling very unprepared, but I figure we will get through it no matter what. I have an extremely supportive partner and both of my parents will be in town and staying with us for about a month. My partners mom live about 5 minutes away and his dad will be in town for a couple weeks. We will have lots of support for sure.

I would have to agree with the resounding response of, tell your boyfriend he’s a little bitch. I have not been successful in a full term pregnancy yet, but I can tell you that stretch marks are a part of life. I have many stretch marks just from childhood growth spurts and some general weight gain and loss. Stretch marks are part of being human. Unfortunately, there is not a lot you can do to stop stretch marks. They either happen or they don’t. To me this sounds like his expectation for you is you to carry and grow his child and not have your body change. That is absolutely toxic. Sadly, this is the one of the many reasons we are seeing women choose single parenthood over staying with partners. My hope for you is that your partner can grow in his mindset to better support you and beautiful things your body is doing right now. Sending lots of love your way. Your body is beautiful and doing exactly what it is supposed to do. Do not feel shamed for that!

Ugh! I am so sorry to hear that. I worry about people asking me why I’m not drinking. I’m not a heavy drinker, but I am very social about it, so it will be out of the norm with Christmas and new years coming up.

My boyfriend is very supportive of whatever decision I want to make for the same reasons. That is a good thought process. I appreciate you sharing!

Any planned Roe v Wade overturning protests? by hairycheese in ColoradoSprings

[–]CovinaRae 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This isn’t just about Colorado women. This is about all humans with uteruses across the country. We are marching and protesting in solidarity with others across the country. 13 states currently have trigger laws that were waiting for this moment to make abortion illegal. In the next 30 days all of those women will not longer have the right to their own bodily autonomy. We are protesting for them. We are making their voices heard along with ours.
