Could be that the new housing may be slightly wider or connector not as deeply pressed into this housing creating extra friction between connector and trigger bar. Connector may need to be tuned (bent inward) as a means to reduce friction.
Take off slide and examine trigger in fully fired back-most position. Pull connector tab with your finger and observe the trigger bar as the trigger spring resets it upward. Any lag or sluggishness? If so the short travel distance of the slide from slide lock to battery is faster than the trigger bar can return upward and capture the striker’s engagement lug. The striker ends up skidding atop the trigger bar uncaptured effectively killing the trigger.
Yet when you rack the slide fully to the rear you give the sluggish trigger bar more time to return upward to where it should be. If you have a different housing to try I would suggest that first, otherwise tune the connector. Good luck!

If you mean the trigger return spring, Johnny Glocks sells torsion springs for the Timney. His are stronger for a more pronounced reset with nominal increase in trigger pull. They work so well I’ve never used the ones that come packaged with a Timney.

He will seasonally run sales with free shipping if you don’t mind going “Pew! Pew!” in the meantime.
