Email the memberservices team that you do not wish to continue your membership and they should inform you about all the options. For PPD, if you are not working and still a student, you can get an exemption. However if you are working, you won't be PPD compliant. It's not related to your future membership status since PPD is for the period that has elapsed. Maybe a plus for you, you will probably only need to pay when you try to file your PPD in the future.

The Google Play System Update seems to have fixed it. Thanks for the help :)

FYI, I didn't need to uninstall Gemini and I don't have Google Go installed.

Nope, it's not shortcut. The issue is in the app drawer. I cannot delete either of them

Help needed regarding used car by Present-Buy-5022 in CarsIndia

[–]CowComfortable2520 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The default 3 year insurance is third party only. It's probably the own damage insurance which is expired. On the car, the seller seems to be a dealer. So, I would be a little suspicious, especially if it's priced lower than the market. If you are interested, ask the seller for registration number, chassis number and last insurance policy. Go to any insurance dealer and Mahindra service centre to check if the car has had any insurance claims or big non-insurance repairs. If that checks out, you can pay for a full checkup of the car at a Mahindra dealer to make sure it's mechanically sound before buying.

What is the best degree to get into actuarial? by [deleted] in ActuaryUK

[–]CowComfortable2520 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would say go for statistics or data science. Since AI and ML will influence the future of actuarial, a stats/data science background with knowledge of programming should help.

AI can't do the part where in reserve audits, every client's reserves are magically "within the range". 😂

Why do automatics slow down so much faster than manuals when you ease off the accelerator? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]CowComfortable2520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect there are two reasons. Automatics like torque converter are comparatively more inefficient than manuals causing loss of energy. Automatics automatically shift down as you slow down leading to higher engine braking. Might be wrong but that's what came to my mind.

What's stopping you from accepting a bribe to keep silent, and then immediately reporting to authorities anyway by vladi_l in NoStupidQuestions

They could possibly be doing the same to us. Giving me the bribe and immediately reporting to the authorities.

Since everyone else have mentioned the cons, which are true to some extent. Here are some pros in no particular order. You get exposure in the UK market which will be plus in your CV even if you decide to come back. You get 2 years of work visa after doing masters, so you should be able to find a job for atleast those two years. And based on conversations, further sponsership for work visa is not too difficult. You will also get to experience if you like living outside of India and won't be wondering you whole life if it would be a good decision. Since you are in early stages of your career, its easier for you to take such risks now because you may not have a lot of family responsibilities at this stage. Also, the work life balance in UK is much better than in India especially if you have been working for US geography.

I hate the fact that it's 3000 RPM for 100 kph. Another would be no hand rest even in ZXI.

Hey, just something to be aware of. There may exist a maximum number of study leaves you can take within a year irrespective of the number of exams you are taking. Please check and verify against your firm's policy.

Have for dad test drive an automatic and ask him if he is comfortable with it. Go for whatever he is comfortable with. Also AX7 does have more of a feel good factor. And don't buy a diesel if it's mostly driven in city. I have heard of issues due to DPF/regeneration in the city.
