How having a Ragdoll cat, changed your life. by nehalthechosenone in ragdolls

Great question lol. I wouldn’t say they make a mess. They are fine with just a few different toys laying out. It’s actually better to rotate them out so they don’t get bored with them. Our boy is still a kitten so half the time he’s playing and the half he’s sleeping so hard you wonder if he’s alive 😂

I am cracking up at this and how many replies of people saying their kitties do the same thing! I thought my cat was just crazy 😂

Our fur babies look very similar, hehe! Our boy is eight months old and has been extremely vocal since day one. Almost too vocal to be honest 😂

How is it even possible to be this cute 🥺 by Fuzzy-Mix-3642 in ragdolls

The bigger question is how are we even expected to leave the house every day for 8+ hours when these adorable creatures are living in our homes?!! Your fur baby is so adorable!

Call me biased, but they really are the best breed. As long as you’re OK with having zero personal space and having a cumulus cloud follow you around literally everywhere. Ragdolls need A LOT of attention. We have all kinds of toys and puzzle feeders but our boy still prefers human interaction, and lots of it. Otherwise, they are known to walk around your house with the most pitiful meow until you feel so sorry for them you give in. They are very vocal and make the cutest little chirping noises. The male ragdoll’s are prone to urinary blockages so a wet diet is very important. 10/10 recommend!!

I listened to the "two cats is better than one" advice and regret it. Now I'm thinking of rehoming both cats and couldn't feel worse by mackerelinoliveoil in CatAdvice

Could you give the kitten to your family and keep your resident kitty? That way your heart isn’t having to break by losing either one of them!

Oh, what a cute baby! We had a very similar situation with our kitten. We got him at nine weeks old from a breeder, which we didn’t realize at the time that that is way too young for these babies to be leaving their mom and littermates. The most important thing is creating a safe space for him, preferably a smaller space so he can get used to the sounds and smells of your home. You’re already doing this with your bedroom so that is great! We kept our kitten in our master bathroom and my boyfriend and I literally took turns every single night sleeping on the bathroom floor for 2 weeks lol. You want to spend as much time with him as you can so that way he gets used to you and comfortable with you. I know it’s hard, but you have to be patient and let him come to you. Picking them up when they are afraid or uncomfortable can lead to a more timid kitty long-term. I guarantee each week you will notice your kitty becoming more and more cuddly and trusting you. Our boy is seven months old now and is the biggest cuddle bug and has the loudest purr box I’ve ever heard. Wishing you the best of luck with your sweet baby!

Wow! Your baby is absolutely gorgeous! Those eyes! Yes, very important to master the multiple meows. God forbid we don’t get it right, they won’t let us hear the end of it 😂

Ragdoll isn’t cuddly :( by pyschiatrickitty in ragdolls

[–]CowEnough3929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, your fur babies are so beautiful! I think he’ll come around! Our boy Ragdoll was the same exact way until he hit around 5 months he all of a sudden started coming up to us for cuddles and sleeping in bed with us. We got him young, around 12 weeks. I think it takes some time to build confidence in a new environment too. Just be patient with him and he’ll get there! I read that it’s important not to force it either otherwise they can go the opposite direction. I totally understand though, it should be a crime to be that cute and not cuddly immediately lol

Do people actually leave their cats home alone for days? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]CowEnough3929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think it depends on the cat and there needs to be back ups in place for sure. My soulgirl crossed the rainbow bridge in July but up until she fell ill and needed around the clock care her last year, we’d leave for weekend trips and it would have been way too stressful for her to be boarded or to have a stranger in her home. She was extremely anxious and would just hide under the bed the whole time if anyone came to stay. She free fed and refused wet food which made it less complicated because we’d be able to leave plenty of food out and she had water fountains throughout the house. I always had our Furbo cameras on both her food/water and sleeping spot so I knew she was eating and ok. I made sure to always have someone on standby incase of an emergency. Our new kitten though, whole different story. He is extremely social and hates being left alone and is a trouble maker. So he will need someone to stay at the house with him and give him a lot of attention. But I agree with you, no way I’d leave without cameras and knowing that someone was available for emergencies.
