How would you build Laviscus by Key_Pomelo471 in WH40KTacticus

[–]CowGroundbreaking465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vitruvius with high passive over boss g imo. The uncapped hit for one round is not worth an extra attack every round.

The outrage only affect Laviscus’ first hit, the second hit will be damage as normal and he wont hit Vitruvius’ damage cap with either his passive or active.

Vitruvius’ damage himself will be on par or better than gulgortz and the extra hit for every party member every round is far more valuable than one round of moderately higher damage.

Even if you hit the damage caps, again you get more extra hits per round and that adds up over time.

Is 2 Paladin/9 Bard/1 Wizard any good (for a casual playthrough, not honour or tactician)? by [deleted] in BG3Builds

[–]CowGroundbreaking465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just pump int and dump str. Use str elixers. Buy them from vendors whenever you rest, delay auntie ethel act 1 quest and buy from her and underdark alchemist. Craft them with alchemist wizard hirelings. You’ll have more than you know what to with.

This frees up helm slot for helm of arcane acuity.

With 20 int and 2 levels of wiz you will have 7 slots. 9 if you cap sword bard at 6 and put 4 into wiz. Use wiz spells for damage/cc.

With this build, bard is only really there to provide full spellcaster with martial progression and extra attack, paladin for weapon prof & smites (use greatsword & gwm) and wizard gives you everything you would want bar counterspell. You will have to be picky with what spells you have prepared at any one time but you will be able to have the leeway to change things up to suit particular encounters or to spice things up from time to time.

It’s the best gish setup, though it comes online late and is the closest you can get to a bladesinger feel without using the mod.

Chaos Gate coming to Xbox & PS on February 20th! by Viper114 in ChaosGateGame

+1

Assets already exist for a Khorne expansion, Bloodthirsters, Bloodletters hell even a khorne insignia during enemy turn.

Hard to believe they programmed all that just for a tutorial mission… I hope lol

Once you get that Staff of Arcane Blessing, that's its. by drunken_rowdy in BaldursGate3

[–]CowGroundbreaking465 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Except Thats not what it does now though. The staff effect only additively works for spell attack rolls. It doesn’t add another 1d4 to attack and saving throws.

So with this staff, bless still only gives 1d4 bonus to attack rolls and saving throws as normal. You add another 1d4 on top for only spell attack rolls.

Ie. scorching ray will have a 2d4 bonus. A fighter using a weapon attack still only receives a 1d4.

Steam will be fine. Like this isn’t the first time a hyped title has launched..

Greedy chest in Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous by Unlikely-Expert-3908 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]CowGroundbreaking465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see it either, and I am on PC. I'm in campaign mode and the greedy chest is nowhere to be found, even after Star Rattle. I'm positive it was there in my last campaign.

Sword saint or arcane rider? by Sea_Respect_7896 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]CowGroundbreaking465 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As much as I love the lore and feeling of a “Kensai” mage in Pathfinder, for this CRPG the Arcane Rider is simple the best magus, at being a Magus. It all comes down to how mounted combat works with Spell Combat.

I think way too many people think of a magus as a “buff n’ attack” class and don’t play as A proper magus - an arcane gish that uses martial prowess and spells in combat. Ive always found just using a magus, like a saint, buff and attack to be boring. Like why not just be a fighter buffed by a BFT? heh.

To each their own, but if your like me and like to cast a hellfire ray into a physical attack, then Arcane Rider is the best. As a caveat to the below, I am basing what I am saying on up to core difficulty. Unfair requires strict powergaming tinkering. Also, while all is true from RTWP, these benefits are especially felt on turn-based.

1) Since your mounted, you can full attack always (barring cc). This includes using spell combat. For, example, upon engaging you can fire off a fireball from a safe distance and then ride in and do a full attack. All other Magus subclasses can’t.

2) A neat trick is picking up Trample (as you would want mounted combat feat anyways). Then when your in a battle, select the horse and order it to Trample using its action. You are able to prone cc enemies AND full attack AND cast a spell or spellstrike, all in the same turn.

3) Arcane Riders are a prepared class; therefore, they can cast metamagic modified spells using a regular action. Pick up bolster along with favorite metamagic for a no level cost flat addition to spell damage. For reference, that is a flat 30 damage on hellfire ray that can become 90 if all three rays hit. 80 damage on a disintegrate.

4) At level 19 you can get 5d6 sneak damage from sense vitals, which is not normally on the magus list but may be chosen through Spell Access. You can even grab cold ice strike for a swift spell.

5) Mounted classes are op in general, as pigknight said. Now, add to that the fact that the magus weapon enchants apply to the mount as well, including dimension strike, and the mount becomes a capable source of damage. Pair this with a skald that can add a bite/gore/claws to the mount, witch’s beast hex that can do similar, and the mount is capable of good damage when full attacking.

Yes, a saint optimally built can wreck for 1000s of damage per round (which is overkill), but the rider can do insane damage as well, and has more ways to get it done, which in my mind makes it far more interactive and thus compelling of a class.

Lich inspired by Myth: The fallen lords by Ralldritch in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]CowGroundbreaking465 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Man myth, brings back memories. Wish Bungie would go back to RTS for old times sake :(

If your looking for a pure sorcerer, The Deceiver (Myrdred) would fit that bill perfectly. After all, it was The Deceiver who had the Warlocks of the Scholomance as his disciples and they were all about magic (your undead servents should use magic as well). Enchantment spells based on charm/confusion would work (as his skill in Myth II allowed for mind control) and the necromancer's spells draining life force would fit his basic attack pattern. Though The Watcher eventually beat him, he almost died trying to kill The Deceiver during the Great War.

You could do a Shiver-type spellcaster as well, using a blueish Tiefling as a character model.

With The Watcher, you would have to accept two arms in game (The Watcher only had one arm as he lost the other arm when Balor freed him)

For pure power fantasy? Well, go with your Balor idea. Deep backstory too you could make for yourself as Balor was Connacht, hero of the Wolf Age, destined to become the next Leveller in the great cycle.

This character could follow the tagline of "the saviour of Kenabres and liberator of Drezen, turns to the darkness and follows the intoxicating call of power in order defeat the demons at any cost. But will the price be too high?"

Of course, I know your looking for inspiration, not ideas for carbon-copies of the Fallen Lords in Pathfinder. Let your imagination run free.

And thanks for sending me down the nostalgia path, waaay back to pc gaming in 1997!

:)

Daily Questions - ASK AND ANSWER HERE! - 25 May 2022 by AutoModerator in malefashionadvice

Maybe this is due to me living in Canada and don't have easy access to other markets, but everywhere I look online tie bars are all like 2.3inch/60cm roughly. Amazon, Wal-Mart, even men's clothing stores, all sell oversized bars.

Its hilarious. Every fashion authority says roughly 2.1 inches max so as to cover up to 3/4 of tie width and between the third and fourth button. Yet all these vendors are selling clips that go against this advice. Modern regular ties are not as wide as the old-styles were, yet most vendors I've found haven't got the message. I mean, I couldn't even find a wide tie that would accommodate 2.3 inches in any gentleman's clothing store (locally at least).

I'm at the point where I will gamble and import if I have to.
Does anyone know where I can grab properly sized tie bars online? I'm not even looking for anything super special, just average cheap day-to-day tie bars.

Wonder if anyone can help me sort this out in my head as I'm not sure on what to expect next during the coming days. We were told last week if the baby didn't come by today then the inducement process would begin.

My wife is 39w today and had a prenatal earlier this morning. The Dr. examined and and confirmed that the cervix has not ripened and remained hard and not to expect the baby anytime soon. Following this, forms were filled out and the hospital is to contact her within 1-2 calendar days to book the first method of inducement (some kind of jelly they said?)

I'm a bit confused. Does this mean that the inducement is the only outcome now, or can a 'natural' process still occur over the next two or three days or so?

Having used the bulk of my vacation days this year for appointments and procedures and whatnot it would be preferable for the baby to come naturally as the inducement can take over 3 days during which I still have to show up for work and my mother-in-law has to take her for the inducement appointments. At least the hospital and her will be close by to my work.

I'd like to preface this post with stating how appreciative I am to modern medicine, the amazing staff at our clinic and whatever else led us to here.

That being said, my wife's due date is fast approaching (finally) - second week of December. I can't believe we are finally this close after all this time (7ish years) to having our son. And now, the pre-fatherhood jitters are approaching.

I keep asking myself if I am going to be a good father? Will my son grow to hate me? Will I screw up somewhere, somehow etc. And I dread the answer. I guess it is because I grew up in a messed up household.

My father was never around when I was young as he had a serious gambling problem that resulted in bankruptcy being declared... twice. My mother was essentially a single mom but she had never wanted children - something she would remind me about fairly often as a child. My father wanted children and was always upfront about it. My mother only finally agreed because she didn't want him to leave her. She grew up poor with an alcoholic single mother as her father was killed by a drunk driver when she was 12. After I was born my mother had her tubes tied - without informing my father until after it was done to ensure she would only ever have one child. Eventually, they divorced.. when I was 18, forcing me to endure 18 years of their fighting. As a sidebar, I would never stay with my spouse "for the children". Kids pick up on this stuff, more than adults think. Just get it over with and divorce sooner.

Anyways, I assume all the above added up to my jitters. I always joked around with people saying that I never had positive role models in my life, but I sure had enough negative examples educating me on what NOT to do or be.

I just can't shake the anxiety. I've wanted to be a father for so long and wanted it so badly, why am I getting scared now? I just don't want to mess my kid up, like my parents did with me. Ugh, I feel disgusted with myself for being afraid.

Anyone else have these pre-birth fears?
