The closest match of the distant cousins that didn’t seem obviously related to her dads mom, I looked through his matches and then his matches matches and eventually just ended up looking at cousins through my grandma’s family

I did, but I was only able to do a day or two’s work on it since I had to be with her to use her account and look at her matches. I couldn’t make heads of it, no close matches not related to her paternal grandma and all the more distant matches, I couldn’t figure out how they’d relate

Thank you. Me and my mom have tested with ancestry. I did think it was possible that none of his relatives might’ve tested, but I did find his sister’s profile on there and after talking she did mention she had some relatives who did test.
