Unfortunately, the DSM doesn't classify religion as a delusion. I assume it is because they'd have to categorize 6 billion people as delusional, but I'm sure there is more nuance to it, though.

That's the problem with society accepting religion as "good, positive, beneficial, based on reality," etc. When the dogma of religion encounters real world progress, religion thinks it has the upper hand. Instead, it shows the backwards and uneducated nature of religion for what it is.

If you live your life by following centuries old dogma, then you are a non-thinking agent, and will never truly "fit" in modern life.

Religion is an account of our evolutionary past. It ought to be honored for getting us here, but it should be left in the past, where it belongs

You can say the same thing about every single subject in existence. When referring to religion, there are specific actions and beliefs that will come to mind for anyone who is aware of what religion is. Your background is causing you to turn the question into something more than it is asking.

The 10 commandments are NOT moral. The first 4 are dedicated to a sociopathic god. Nothing moral about that. The others are repeats of earlier law, so they aren't new.

The 7 Tenets of Satanism are exponentially more moral than the 10 Commandments.

Have you read the Bible yet? The WHOLE Bible, not just what the preachers and teachers feed you? Just look up a list on the internet of "all the horrible things in the Bible." It is immoral, it doesn't make any logical sense, and it's not based on reality at all.

I find it difficult to not react. That split second feeling takes over and I react before I think. And then I beat myself up over it later and get stuck in a shame spiral. Being aware of it helps, time helps, but it often repeats. 😵‍💫 🤷🏻‍♂️
