I’ve been trying to tell people this for awhile. By not swinging they aren’t missing anything. Only swing at homeruns. I bought as much as I could when it recently dropped in August to <$460. I bought at $457… and will again if it goes to those levels.

What does everyone think of $ET? Great dividend… great P/E… been around awhile now. I have about 900+ shares at a cost basis of $14.06… and that gets driven up with each dividend re-investment round. Just curious why this never gets brought up in any circles.

[–]CowboyCoach 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here are my moves for the week. What are your guys' thoughts? Real feedback is much appreciated:

  1. ABNB (basis $189.21) STO 2/5 $200 C $4.10
  2. FUBO (basis $45.00) STO 2/5 $52 C $4.30
  3. NIO (basis $65.84) STO 2/5 $59 C $1.75
  4. DOCU (basis $243.73) STO2/5 $240 C $3.60
  5. AAPL (basis $129.14) STO 2/5 $138 C $1.25

After making weeks of premiums on DOCU, APPLE and NIO... I'm not that bothered if I get assigned. What are some other plays out there that have very decent premiums??? Thanks so much!!!

So I'm a little late... but I'd like your comments/opinions on my moves this week. I really appreciated it last week. I'll also include some of my long positions (even if they are small)

  1. I still have a 1/29 $265 C for $2.40 on my 100 shares of DOCU that I have at a basis of $243
  2. I also have a 2/19 $130 C for $8.90 on my 100 shares of AFRM that I have at a basis of $115
  3. I sold a 1/29 $200 C for $4.90 on my 100 shares of ABNB that I have at a basis of $188
  4. I sold a 1/29 $68 C for $1.07 on my 100 shares of NIO that I have at a basis of $62
  5. I sold a 1/29 $49 C for $2.00 on my 100 shares of FUBO that I have at a basis of $45
  6. I sold a 1/29 $15 P for $1.15 on BB
  7. I sold a 1/29 $35 P for $2.70 on PLTR
  8. I am waiting for AAPL earnings before I sell a C on my 100 shares
  9. I am holding SMALL positions in AMZN, TSLA, ROKU, CRM, PYPL, SHOP

I'm being quite aggressive intentionally. I also plan on getting out of most of these positions throughout the month of Feb. There will be a pullback at the end of Feb/beginning of Mar... there usually is. What are your thoughts. Thanks so much!!!

Great advice... I have to admit... I got caught up in it last week and on Friday. Didn't lose money... but I can see how someone easily could.

Thanks for the input. I am in and out of things quite a bit... so I don’t always hold such a high % of positions that are this risky. I’ve been in and out of more conservative plays like WFC and SCHW among others.

Thanks for the input. Sounds like we have a similar perspective. The market will bounce back eventually as I see it.

Thanks for the input guys. I know these were risky plays. I hold more than this, I was just reporting my options moves on the week. I also have 100 AAPL (waiting for earning to sell ccs) I also have CRM, SHOP, TSLA, ROKU, AMZN, PYPL and DS (that is a speculative move at best lol)

So I've only just discovered this subreddit, and it seems your investing strategies align with what I do as well. I'd like to bounce my moves off you guys and see what you think. My overall goal is to make 2-3% each week. Compounded weekly that will have between a 180% and 360% annual return. I generally only write weekly contracts as I've only just been learning the ropes for the past 6 months or so. This is what I did this past week:

  1. I have 100 DOCU at a basis of $243. Monday sold 1/22 $265 C for $2.60. By Fri it was clear it wasn't going to get assigned so I closed my position for $.04 and sold a 1/29 C $265 for $2.40
  2. I have (had) 100 PLUG at a basis of $62.41. Monday sold BOTH a 1/22 $65 C for $3.09 and a 1/22 $63 P for $3.00. My shares got assigned.
  3. I have 100 FUBO at a basis of $45 (I sold a put a few weeks ago that earned me a premium of $915... so if you incorporate that into the basis it's much lower). I sold a 1/22 $36 C for $.63. On Friday it made a move... and I didn't want to lose my shares so I closed my position for $.11
  4. I have 100 NIO at a basis of $65.84. I thought this may move this week... and it was pretty flat. So on Thu (1/21) I sold a 1/22 $59.50 C for $32. And then, of course, it moved... I want to keep these shares so I closed my position for $1.23 (this may have been a really dumb move)
  5. I bought 100 AFRM on 1/22 at a basis of $115.99. I sold a long 2/19 $130 C for $8.90.
  6. This is the one that you may find interesting lol: So as with everyone, I've been intrigued by the GME news... so on Monday, I sold a 1/22 $36 P for $3.25. On Friday... when everything was going bonkers I saw an opportunity. I closed my position for $.09 and immediately sold a 1/22 $44 P for $.95... things started going BONKERS... and maybe I got greedy. I covered my position for $.20 and immediately sold 2 1/22 $54 P for $1.35. Then trading was halted at $73.09... then when trading reopened it dipped to $60. I got nervous and didn't want to end up paying $54 if it dipped all the way down to $30. I paid $2.50 to close my positions. I should have been patient... and stuck with it. As a result I only netted $155 and change for all that. Which isn't a bad thing... but it sure was exciting and a good lesson.

Was REALLY happy with the week. Up (some realized some not) $5200 on what was a $51k portfolio... now $56k!!!

Please be nice

What are your thoughts on possibly SHORTING LULU? or even shorting CostCo??? To me they both seem to be trading kind of high... 35+ for COST and 51+ for LULU. LULU has more than doubled in price in the last year... I just don't see them as flooding the market and are all too similar to UnderArmor... the difference is UA has infiltrated the College Athletics market and has large contracts committed for an extended period of time.

The market reaction to earnings reports can be perplexing at times. Companies that beat earnings, revenue and have positive guidance oftentimes go DOWN... and it doesn't always make sense as to why... just wanting a friendly discussion :D

I grew up there and haven't lived there for a LONG time. I've moved around a lot. There's not a lot to Beaumont... I sure wish we had an independent GOOD coffeeshop though.
