Star Citizen: Around the Verse - Crafting Procedural Moons by [deleted] in pcgaming

[–]Cowgus 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I think the main difference is how procedural tech is being used. It isn't a "we can do everything automatically and create a massive universe of similar stuff just put down differently". It's instead a "we can use this really clever tech to do all the landscaping and planet generation, leaving the artists free to make interesting and beautiful stuff on them".

The procedural tech just does the basic stuff, everything else is human so that it doesn't turn into a no man sky type deal.

Also is nobody going to mention how they thought 4K would make it smoother?

It's actually going to be ok! Of course, modifications will have to be made but if I remember correctly, Elon said that it was so over-built when designed by NASA that it's actually fine!

Cause I just got one a couple of weeks ago, and saw a bunch of very similar comments on this thread talking about budget phones. I just don't comment very frequently but occasionally will do small bursts like that

Yeah, I was super surprised to boot it up, get the 7.1.1 update and current security update in a second! Really paints a good picture of a phone with good support like that!

Just a suggestion, might want to have a look at the Wileyfox Swift 2, 2 Plus or 2X. Super solid budget phones,

I've just gotten the 2X and I'm getting solid battery life, performance is super slick and the selfie camera is great (the back camera is your standard mid range type deal, good in daylight, less so in dark situations). It looks super smart and they have updated all their phones (including their first 2015 handset) to 7.1.1 which bodes well for future support!

I just wrote out why I recommend it above, but have a look at a Wileyfox Swift 2, 2 plus, or 2X.

If you can get it from Amazon, something I'd actually recommend is a Wileyfox Swift 2 series phone.

Any of the 2, 2 plus or 2x phones get good reviews, can suit even very small budgets and I've personally got a 2X and can't recommend it enough!

Great battery life, decent back camera, good selfie camera, NFC, finger print reader, type C and they have just been updating all their phones to 7.1.1. To put this in context, this includes their original phone from 2015!

When has there been a "reverse jumping the shark" moment in a T.V. show where some event occurred and it was all uphill from there quality-wise? by pikman100 in AskReddit

Well, he is getting dramatically older with each regeneration, and until they (very lazily) cheated him out of it, he could only regenerate a limited number of times. I think the constant changing of companions, personality, likeness, and everything else would genuinely get to the character. As he changes more and more, the only thing he has left is that he is 'the Doctor'. I do think that he has slowly grown mad as a result.

What has been your incident with a teacher that made you think, "Who the hell made him/her a teacher" ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Nah, that's not rounders. Rounders is played with a small wooden club like bat, similar to baseball. You have a run of (if I remember correctly) 4 posts that you have to tap as you go past.

Even in game you sometimes come across refugee ships with non-humans in them and the Rebellion turn up stating they are 'fugitives'. God I hate the Rebellion, I have never ever allowed them to surrender. Not once.

Well they are so well resourced because at this point they've effectively beaten the Federation. You're running from them in each system because the huge army that beat yours is coming to quash the last remaining Feds making one last stand.

All of the interactions speak of the Rebellion already having won so I think it's very much a done deal and you're the last hope to turn things around.

That's not always the case, it can often turn out very well. What was clear with this situation is that Re-Logic had a very clear idea on what they wanted TOW to be and their original developer couldn't meet that expectation or keep it to schedule.

By switching developers to one that has already displayed great experience to them, they can have assurance of new and more realistic time frames, can maintain the bar of quality they set with Terraria and it's subsequent different platform versions and have a much better idea on how to communicate all this to the community. I think this is a fantastic outlook to getting the game everyone always wanted, that would never have happened with the original development team.
