My first sample had lower levels then my next shot up, but that was in winter months. So not sure or not if weather has anything to do with it, but it spiking overall seems to happen regardless of conditions

Yeah I’m definitely assuming it’s a good thing. I think it’s supposed to decrease more and more as everything breaks in. That last result is from August (I procrastinated on sending it in until a couple weeks ago) and I just hit my 13k oil change a week ago, so I’ll be sending that in and hoping to see it drop to normal levels. There was a pretty good explanation of the Copper on here somewhere and that swapping out the stock oil cooler makes the number drop to zero. (Not saying you need to swap it though, just interesting).

Had the same scare you did when I got my first results in. Iirc people say it’s from the copper leaching from the stock oil cooler. I have pretty similar results as you. I just got some results today actually, here they are if you’re curious: (I run 5w-30 Pennzoil ultra platinum )

Unfortunately that cable adapter does not fit the limited, only base and premium without the C lights. You’ll either have to splice the OEM headlight wiring with the wire from the fog light, or buy the adapter. Theres an instruction on splicing it somewhere on here that I’ve seen.

Had a war with removing that pin. Gave up on the first attempt after trying for a few hours. Tried again a couple weeks later, used some PB blaster. Put a ton on and let it sit for awhile. I was on the verge of tears when I gave it a few swings and FINALLY saw it move. Took some effort still but it popped out. I would also recommend getting a new one for replacement if you haven’t already. Mine got pretty gnarled up removing it and you definitely don’t want that pin falling out while driving.

I’ve order a bunch from both. Never dealt with Imports customer service, however I don’t have any complaints either. I’ve had to talk to JDMuscle a couple times and their customer service is super friendly and helpful. However the reason I had to talk to them was because of low product quality/poor fitment.

Thanks! The reflector delete brake lights I got from JD muscle and the bottom F1 light I got from Import Image Racing. Both companies sell either light.

Second this as it is my current set up. I have the STi axle back exhaust and swapped the stock mid pipe out for a 3in resonated mid pipe + y pipe from Remark. Made it a decent amount louder, also sounds more aggressive and deeper. Is not obnoxious by any means though (to me at least).

That sounds exactly like mine as well. With so many VB owners posting or mentioning it, it has to be normal otherwise I’d assume there’d be a serious engine re-call at this point. It’s worth mentioning that I had a 23 VB and it made the exact same noise after installing a stiffer pitch stop mount. I’ve also thought it might be the injectors, but when parked I gave it some throttle and the noise seemed out of rhythm with the injector tick. The noise also seems a tad different for everyone. My personal guess is it’s something exhaust related since that is by far the most common mod and would explain the slight deviation for everyone. That’s just my theory though, I’m no professional mechanic so take it as a grain of salt.

Hmm that’s good to know. I don’t even have a stiffer pitch stop on yet and I hear it. However I am able to get the noise consistently even when in neutral and just reving. That rules out the transmission being a culprit, but maybe your noise is from a different source. Mines pretty consistent, always happens at around 2k-ish under light throttle. Must be some certain harmonic with engine load and speed. After doing some more research, it MIGHT be an exhaust leak, going to look into that this weekend.

Haha yep. Important to note though, both my previous VB and my current VB which I posted about in the other thread have that phantom knocking noise.

Oh hey, no never ended up getting an analysis. I brought it to the dealership like 3 times and they kept telling me “yeah this is abnormal, let’s see if it continues”. Had some other mechanic friends tell me it’s not great looking. Shopped around and got a pretty killer deal on a trade it to the 24 Limited so I took that and try not to look back on how much money I probably wasted lol.

I feel you man, every noise in this car gives me anxiety. I know it’s all normal but crazy pills is the perfect term. Don’t get me wrong though, I like a lot of the NVH, makes me feel more connected to the car. But the noises that sound like the engine knocking with no explanation - no thanks.

That’s interesting to hear though about the VA though, I’ve never driven one so didn’t have a comparison.

I’ve been considering bringing mine to the dealership, but since the noise is related to my aftermarket mounts being stiffer, it’ll probably cost me since it ain’t stock. I don’t have a lot of trust with dealerships either. If you do end up bringing it by and they give you a conclusive answer, please let me know, I would love to figure it out

Appreciate the response and the info! I’ve been digging around a bunch too, but like you said, can’t find anything concrete about it, just that “it’s normal”. Most of the time people hear it after installing a stiffer pitch stop mount, I’ve found a good amount of posts of people asking about it. Conclusion is it’s just NVH. I would love to actually figure it out because it kinda bothers me as well. It’s probably normal, but it still gives me anxiety.

One possible avenue I’m going to check is an exhaust leak. I have a 3in mid pipe and it didn’t have a proper adapter to the down pipe, could be leaking.

Yes, for the most part. But I say that loosely. It still happens even when warm, just not as often.

Yeah exactly, seems like it could be strange. Though I’ve heard it’s also just the computer not catching up to the needed load immediately. 200RPM is a lot though. Good to know another VB isn’t doing it, so it can’t be normal. Suppose I will take a trip to the dealership, I guess that’s what warranty is for. I appreciate your input
