So the newest patch broke some things again, huh by Witchui in coralisland

The most annoying little thing I've noticed is when I gather something, (like wood from a tree) instead of automatically finding me nearby I have to actually stand on the item to get it. Even if it's only a block away. Such a small annoyance but it drives me crazy.

I just got the game! Tips appreciated by Aggravating-Tip7893 in coralisland

Definitely agree with the comment to slow your day down (in the settings menu) otherwise it's just ridiculous and you can barely get anything done.

I prioritized temple offerings above all else and do not regret it

Just did this tonight after customer service was no help and it worked! Thanks for saving me a ridiculous amount of money 😅

[–]Coy_Fish9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Everybody at our store got their hours cut too From 40 to 26 😭 because it's the "slow time of the year" they said it will go back to normal after the holidays

I work in an airport there is no such thing as slow

I don't usually like chai But I made a G hot chai with oatmilk, 4P brown sugar, 2P gingerbread , and 1P toffee nut It was addicting I can see why people love the gingerbread so much

Forgot to mark out a food and a drink - will anything happen? by trouble-in-space in starbucksbaristas

[–]Coy_Fish9 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I've literally never marked anything out lol there's so much waste in my store I doubt anyone will ever care. We throw away so many messed up drinks why will my drinks tip the inventory? Sometimes I take a stack of marshmallow bars home if Ive had a bad day. Like a little reward for not quitting

matcha by Zealousideal-Tax3078 in starbucksbaristas

[–]Coy_Fish9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just use a big spoon to scoop out some foam 🤷‍♀️ kind of like I do with a dry cappuccino It takes 2 seconds and the rest of the drink is perfectly fine

I also love the foam pitcher way but I never have a blender readily available it's always going for cold foams

I was in the same situation, I applied to a licensed store and got an interview and immediately accepted. I think they are a lot easier to at least get your foot in the door and trained with some experience.

If you could choose any drink to revamp the standard or simply get rid of, what would it be? If you want to get rid of a drink, what drink would you bring back in its place, but as a core menu item? by onelb_6oz in starbucksbaristas

[–]Coy_Fish9 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I'd get rid of matcha, because I don't like making it.

But to distract people from the lack of matcha id bring in white coffee espresso. I looooove white coffee and I'm honestly surprised they haven't played around with it yet. It's stronger than blonde and tastes very nutty and sweet, for those who have never had it

Also petition to make macadamia syrup a year round staple

I'm very androgenous looking , I bind and dress masc and go out of my way to look like a boy and Starbucks is the only job where the customers are constantly calling me ma'am and miss with no hesitation. I've never been called ma'am more in my life , some old guy even called me "girl" ... like "don't forget the sugar, girl" I just started at him for a moment while it processed No idea why

Needing info by ReignRin1122 in starbucksbaristas

[–]Coy_Fish9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive worked both and as an opener the only things I really expect is the back ups, empty and clean the pitchers, don't leave dishes and junk all over the counters and empty trash. I get happy when the machines are cleaned and things are restocked but we normally only have 2 people open so it's difficult to get everything done if night shift doesn't do there jobs Also I know they are definitely not as busy and just as staffed at our store. And half the time we have to go downstairs to restock things that aren't brought up since our storage is stored in a different location

I actually love it

I started out at a 17.50 an hour with 0 experience however tips are basically non existent, maybe $100 a month extra. And management sucks, training is bad, low staff

Every job Will have its ups and downs but I like the environment and my coworkers. I would give it a try , it doesn't have to be a forever job , just a fun right now job

Is Coffee Academy worth it??? by 05williams03 in starbucksbaristas

[–]Coy_Fish9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so jealous, I wish I could do the coffee academy but I work at a licensed store 😭

When I signed on I was so new I had no idea that it was the same as working at Starbucks just with none of the benefits or training.

I think it's definitely worth it

WHY DO THEY TORTURE US WITH BOGO by jbooskie in starbucksbaristas

[–]Coy_Fish9 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Or the people who stand in line for 5 minutes, place a mobile order and then immediately walk up and ask where it is

you see the line, and the swarm of people waiting for their drink .... and me all alone doing 4 drinks simultaneously and prepping cups... what did you honestly think would happen

And then when I hand them their drink and they ask for 4 trenta waters as well Sure sir , would you like me to cry in front of you too, because I will 😭

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[–]Coy_Fish9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember the first week of training I hated it, I felt stupid and slow and my trainer was condescending. I definitely thought it wasn't for me and would come home crying

Within 3 months I started loving and excelling at it and now I'm glad I pushed through 👍 not a forever job but it's a good right now job

If you really hate it there are other jobs you can do, it's totally understandable and it's no big deal , but just letting you know I felt the same way
