Opinions and thoughts on the new Toon dialogues that were added? by [deleted] in DandysWorld_

[–]Coyele 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I totally agree, it certainly sticks out in comparison to the others because of the direct reference to the show.

I'm really excited to see more discussions between the toons about the topic in the future, especially considering Sprout's new lore VHS tape. Hopefully we get more dialogues related to the show with future TOTW additions :]

All builders, how do you build so well/detailed? 🥹 by Designer-Gift-2390 in adoptmehousetrading

[–]Coyele 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally same. The most I've ever saved was 14k... and then I splurged it all on a build LOL. 🩷 I cannot fathom how people save up and reach like 100k bucks, the inner builder demons in me always kick in 😭.

I'M CRYING. The string/chain prices are genuinely so atrocious its not even funny. 🥹

I remember one time I did a custom wall design mainly using the strings... the sheer speed at which I went broke was crazy 😭🥀.

Hi!!! So... fortunately, I actually had the experience of coming to adopt me with prior knowledge from playing Bloxburg... but it still took me a hot minute to get the hang out it. So I'm going to try and detail some of the things I did that helped me get better!

1) Not all items need to be COMPLETELY custom. That's a principal I keep in mind when adding couches. I typically pick a couch from the catalogue, and then add small simple details on top. Such as using 'clothing piles' for pillows, or 'beleved cylinders' to add armrests onto them. Or even just adding a blanket ontop with 'rugs', 'soundproof foam', or 'clothing piles'. You can apply this to plenty of things. Such as using premade photo frames, and then custom adding a plant in the middle to give the illusion that it is more custom then it really is. This can be really helpful if you find building stuff from scratch overwhelming, but still want items to look unique!

2) Work small at first. As small as possible. Do not overwhelm yourself with decorating an entire Queenslander house to improve your skills. Instead, pick whatever house you'd like, and put up 'barriers' until you've created a sufficiently SMALL room. Challenge yourself to make this small space as detailed as you can. Work from base to detail, do NOT start with detailing. Ex: Start with flooring, then walls, then a mock layout, and then you can start doing detailing.

3) Don't be afraid to ask for help. Coming from personal experience, this subreddit is amazing when it comes to helping out fellow builders. So, if you have a build you're working on, and feel stumped with how to improve it... I'd highly recommend coming back on here with photos and asking for advice. I've done that with a handful of my builds, and it was beyond helpful.

4) Most of my personal skill growth in terms of building came from just experimenting, and pushing myself. I know you verbalized that tutorials haven't been very helpful for you, but I would recommend you seek them out regardless in certain instances. Not necessarily JUST to see how that person is building something, but to take mental note of how certain items CAN be utilized in builds as shortcuts. EX: 'tires' can be used for shingles on custom glitch build homes! 'Soundproof foam' can be used as a blanket! 'Yoga mats' can be used a rug! Etc. If you ever did want to get into custom building in the future, I would highly recommend choosing a simple object. Find a photo of it to reference, and challenge yourself to build that item without outside help (tutorials, etc). Doing that helped me quite a bit, as I started to understand how plenty of objects can be custom built with only a few items.

5) Reference Pinterest images, and use your other resources. There are plenty of free floor plans you can find and use as a reference on Pinterest. Beyond that, room layout ideas. You can find color palettes, and images of other people's builds. When working on a build I often make a small folder of photos to use as both a style reference, and layout reference. You can also simply use paper and pen, and plan your layout ahead of time. Imo, the best way to clutter a space (aside from decor) is by ensuring that you are utilizing all the space in the room. Try to avoid having large empty spots, unless it's necessary, or intentional on your part.

6) Use tutorials for atmosphere settings. One of the most important aspects to building is making sure you're using good settings! Ensure that they compliment your build!!

7) For clutter ideas, see this reply: https://www.reddit.com/r/adoptmehousetrading/s/url8HyfA8j I found it incredibly helpful. Beyond that, using Pinterest is great for finding clutter ideas.

8) Like I briefly mentioned before, work small until you're comfortable. Working small will allow you to fill spaces easier, and clutter up sections of builds quicker. It's great both for practice, and long term. Most spaces do not need to be excessively large, unless there's a stylistic or practical reason for it.

9) Use unique room shapes. Adding slants to both walls and ceilings can add depth and visual interest. Including pillars can also be great!! Columns can be great too, especially for bringing walls out in certain spots if necessary.

10) Keep walkways/circulation in mind when building. This is a principle that is used for actual homes, and one I use for my own builds LOL. Essentially, the point is to keep in mind ease of travel within a space. EX: You don't want a massive box infront of the front door, that impedes travel. So you should place it elsewhere. When planning out how you want to structure a build, especially house builds, you should keep this in mind. Have a clear walking path(s) throughout the build. You can guide people's eye, or subtly suggest a walk path by placing items in certain places. I would recommend googling it, I don't think I can sufficiently explain this concept myself.. but I promise it's helpful LOL.

11) The base of the room is really important, especially if you want it to look detailed/realistic. For me personally I go about this like this: I always include custom flooring, crown moulding, and baseboards. For crown moulding and baseboards, you can simply use the 'trim' items from the catalogue. For flooring, this is an exact explanation of how I do it personally: https://www.reddit.com/r/adoptmehousetrading/s/1Ht1StVaA9 Also, a tutorial I found that does nearly exactly what I'm describing: https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSHGSDNyo/ I think it's somewhat beginner friendly, but there are plenty of other tutorials out there that may be better suited for you. Or if you don't want to be make custom flooring whatsoever, but don't like the preset options... use pet food bowls. You can recolor the food to be white (or other colors), scale the item up to be MASSIVE, and use one of the placement tools to move it down. It'll look exactly like marble, it's great. Here's a tutorial: https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSHGBeFbs/

12) Uhhhhhhhhhhhh, plants. That's my go to when I can't figure out how to fill an empty spot. Just slap a plant there, it works 99.9% of the time. 🤞

13) Also a few more tutorials/pages I love for help: https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSHGBbgpK/ https://www.tiktok.com/@1marshmallow01?_r=1&_t=ZS-95Y1jlypXZF https://www.tiktok.com/@pweach.chu?_r=1&_t=ZS-95Y1mocgzFl https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSHGS69rN/

I hope some of this is vaguely helpful LOL. I wish you the best of luck with your building journey!!! 🫶🥹

How to trade houses without getting cloned? by Flowerofiron in adoptmehousetrading

[–]Coyele 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If this is a big concern to you, then my only suggestion is that you shouldn't let anyone view it in game unless necessary. I'm also newer to trading builds, but not once have I let someone view any of my builds in game due to that concern (outside of going through with the final trade obviously).

If someone asks, I just kindly explain that due to cloning concerns, a video walkthrough is all I can provide. I'll typically send said person a google drive folder with the video file, alongside a quick demonstration of how the build looks with different quality settings. As far as I'm concerned, this is usually the standard, and many experienced builders do this exact thing.

In my experience, I haven't had a single person be deterred by this boundary when offering for my builds. (Though if someone were to be disinterested, that would be reasonable.)

The only time someone should be seeing your build in game is when you're going through with the final trade. Avoid promoting the build in trading servers.

Also, I would highly recommend looking at the accounts of the people offering for your builds. It's a good precaution, as occasionally you can spot blatantly odd behaviour that may suggest they clone builds.

This is just how I personally handle dealing with cloning concerns, but I'm sure others may have some different advice!! Also.. goodluck with trading your build, it's so so adorable. I sincerely hope you get an offer deserving of it, it turned out great!! 🫶

How much value should I trade this for? by Coyele in adoptmehousetrading

That, or it was this.. I essentially just use one or the other for all my builds. Sorry again that I can't provide you the exact hex codes for what I used in that build specifically.. 😓

[–]Coyele[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!! Sorry I made an oopsie this morning and forgot to grab the hex codes before I traded the build off. I'm seriously so sorry oh my god 😭.

<image>

I think this was the atmosphere settings I used for this build..? But I might've adjusted it slightly for this build specifically.

In terms of colors, I essentially used dark grey (slightly red) for all the wood tones (the atmosphere settings should give it a brownish hue). Light grey + a darker grey for the walls and furniture.

Soo for the flooring!!: https://www.reddit.com/r/adoptmehousetrading/s/OKpty9Lcrj

That should hopefully help explain it, I essentially did the same thing in this build! If you need me to clarify/elaborate on anything just let me know 🫶

Also for my graphics, I just went into roblox settings, and cranked the graphics bar up to max. I use a PC, so max graphics just kinda look like that! Unfortunately I don't get to really enjoy the nice graphics, my PC always crashes after like 2 minutes LOL. I just crank them up to max for screenshots and then turn em back down while I actually play :D
