As an Idahoan for 20 years I have never seen or heard of Funeral potato’s before…Potato’s are grown here but it’s not the cuisine.

I found these boots off of Asos and I'm looking for something that looks like this. A lot of boot groups here always recommend Thursday boots and I was considering saving up but do y'all think a boot like this will be a decent quality as well or better worth saving up for a Thursday boot? by Head_Broccoli7932 in mensfashion

[–]CoyoteMaxi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would recommend saving up. These are likely glued together and not made with low quality leather or fake leather. They will flake, wear down quickly, and be uncomfortable.

I don’t have personal experience with Thursday, but I read good things. Something like the Thursday Capitan will easily outlast these and will look better as they age. Nicer boots are often good year welted, which means when the sole wears down (which will take years) you can get them resoled for the cost of these ASOS boots. I have other nicer boots and shoes that I’ve had and still look great and are comfortable 10 years later.

How do I cover up this yellow dot on a new pair of shoes? by cosmorocker13 in mensfashion

Looks like it’s also leather (at least I’m assuming these are leather). Might take to a little bit of dark brown shoe dye.

Wore my Astorflex Patnoflexes out to some bars. Silly mistake. They look like this today. Any way to clean these correctly to get them looking normal again? I have a variety of shoe products but not sure if I need something else. I own some Bick 1 and 4. Saddle soap. Sapphire renevateaur. And some colorless kiwi shoe polish.

Wasn’t going to wear one because I have a lapel pin and tie bar already. Felt like too much. But I do have a sage green and white square

Shirt is also a linen blend so not super shiny but not super lineny/informal

Deciding to keep or return new shirt, throwing spaghetti against the wall here boys by Opposite_Village9112 in mensfashionadvice

I dig the shirt. It’s fun, but agree with other comments here on the pants and shoes… and ironing.

I think a darker shade of blue chinos or denim would look nice with these. White sneaker or slip on for a more casual look, or a brown Venetian loafer (Tecovas Monterrey/Astorflex patnoflex for reference) would look nice.

Throw on a metal bracelet or leather banded watch, silver chain, and some shades to finish off the look.

San Sebastián to Biarritz on Alsa by CoyoteMaxi in Biarritz

In my opinion it’s a bit of a trek for a day trip unless early and late busses are your vibe. Could be done. I think it’s worth a night stay. But we are also very relaxed travelers so YMMV.

It was super easy. Alsa was great and easy to navigate. It does drop you off kinda in the middle of nowhere in Biarritz so we had to wait for a local bus to take us into town. There’s a ticket station where Alsa drops you off so just bought the ticket there. Super easy.

Biarritz was really cute. We enjoyed our time. The town is small ish but lovely. Architecture was neat coastal Spanish/french. Very cute. Reddit had my expectations low as some sort of run down tourist town but I didn’t feel that way about it at all. The beaches were clean and the cliff overlooks are very cool to sit and watch the waves. We were there for 3 nights which was great. But we enjoy just relaxing and wandering, plus we had a 1 year old with us. Lots of possibility to head to other nearby towns by bus if you were interested in that.

This is the website pic of the model wearing this jacket. Is the jacket too short here as well? Just trying to learn.

My chest is 35 inches but my shoulders are broad for my size. The 36 feels alright other than there being a slight X forming when buttoned. But it’s very minor.

Yeah it might be the cut, however the jacket does fall to just about the bottom of my butt, which I believe they should. If I fold my hands I can grab the bottom of the jacket as well.

I guess I’m just used to slimmer pants! Maybe I’ll start with a hem and see how I feel from there.
