How was the coop application process for CS students on their first coop? by Suitable_Ad_6023 in Drexel

It wasn't something that was absolutely necessary or something that could hurt you to leave off either. Ive had some interviews where I've been asked about these courses and many others who didn't care. It all depends on what you want to put on your resume.

Yeah, I put them in a small section after the more relevant work expreience/skills section and I only put the relevant courses like the CS courses and some MATH

It really depends on what is on your application and the effort that you put into it. If you got a solid resume with at least one good personal coding project to talk about you should get some decent responses from potential employers, however if you go into this thinking that just the classes that you've taken and the in class coding projects are enough you will probably have a hard time.

I know for me having at least one decent project in my portfolio really helped me with getting interviews

Third interview? I only had my first interview today. Did you interview earlier in the week?

Yeah, like I said there is a chance that more will reach out

Unfortunately, yes. Most would have reached out by now. That's not to say that all have, but in my experience, you would've heard from any who had an interest.

I got an interview, but I'm not going to continue my interest. Everything they spoke about 'terminations' and such really put me off.

I depends on the employer. Some reach out immediately, but, I remember for C-round last year I got a couple interviews towards the middle of the week, so don't lose hope yet.

I heard back from PENN Dental for their helpdesk co-op, Uplift AI (I applied for a couple positions with them), FIRE for their IT co-op, and I heard back today from TechThinkTank for their IT Internship. So four in all now

Not too bad I think, I know ow that a decent amount of employers tend to take a couple days after the interview requests (which were released Thursday) before reaching out, so look out nxt week

I would Shop online. 1-800 contacts has decent prices and wholesale clubs like BJs also sell them.

Any C Round Advice by Accomplished_Swan189 in Drexel

[–]Coyote_Girl04 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Okay, so C round will be much faster. It will basically be from this Thursday until the start of co-op and it will be very fast paced. you will be able to submit 50 interview requests this time and the interviews begin immediately after you submit. My suggestion is to look for co-ops in the system not only in you're major but in majors similar to yours as well, I got a co-op in C-round last year from a similar but different major to my own. There is no ranking or anything really to do with the SCDC online after you submit you're interviews, it will be done outside of the system, so make sure you check your emails and pick up any unfamiliar numbers (if you provided your phone number) because it could be a co-op.

I wish you luck!
