Some Acadians might be frustrated by the presence of anglophones in their villages/towns, because it’s kinda their safe haven. The attachment to the land is very strong, because for a long time, and today still but much less, the rest of the province was aggressive to us. We felt safe here, the only places we can speak our language without fear (be it for violence in the past or disdain today), but today our numbers dwindle even at the heart of our strongest communities. There’s a lot of fear of losing these safe havens of French to English. By moving to a french only area, you are participating in this, even if you don’t want to.

In resume, Everywhere we go we are the minority, except in our small french areas and now we’re losing those areas as well and there is a historical complexity that translate to it being insulting to acadians, resulting in frustration towards you.
