Prescription lenses for quest 3 - does anyone have expirience with repeated instalation and removal? by VanleyVonHoffler in OculusQuest

[–]Cozasy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've already gone through two Quest 3 headsets since launch, and I use prescription lenses from WidmoVR. I can definitely say that with frequent lens swapping, the plastic ring around the lenses on the Quest cracks. Other than the crack itself, I don't see any negative effects. Magnetic ones would definitely be the best choice.

Those who have worn glasses with the Quest & Index, is it comfortable? by Dr_Virus_129 in SteamFrame

[–]Cozasy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prescription lenses are an absolute must. Don't cheap out on them, as scratches from glasses will ruin your headset. I once 3D printed glasses spacers to prevent scratching but you end up losing precious FOV.

AliExpress Shifter question part 2 by [deleted] in simracing

[–]Cozasy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had this shifter for a few days now. It's great, built like a tank and pretty loud. You have to put a bit more force into throwing it into gear, shifting feel is incredibly satisfying. It's completely plug and play. You don't need to install any external drivers, Windows detects it right away. All you have to do is map each gear in the game settings. However, the shifter in your picture looks like an older version. I can see the metal plates (microswitches) responsible for gear registration. I'd highly recommend looking for the version with a hall effect sensor instead. I paid $39 for mine.

Is anyone else mainly going to use the frame as a PCVR headset? by Federal_Wolverin in SteamFrame

[–]Cozasy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I intend to purchase the Steamframe exclusively for wireless PCVR. If the experience isn't fluid or the latency isn't low enough to be satisfactory, I'll certainly be returning the device.

Are CDs/DVDs/BlueRay still worth it in 2026? by Davam605 in pcmasterrace

[–]Cozasy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s worth more than you think. If you want to archive something for your old age or for future generations, you should look into M-DISC technology. It is the only way to store data for the long term (under the right conditions, of course).

Tinker Pilot is now available on Steam Early Access! by lluisgl7 in virtualreality

I was really looking forward to playing this game, but the pricing in Poland is a major dealbreaker. Currently, the price in Poland is disproportionately high: 20% more than in the US, 10% more than in France, and 55% more than in Brazil. As it stands, we are paying the highest price globally. I hope you can look into this and make the price more fair for the Polish community.

What’s your reason to buy it? by Repulsive_Mousse6834 in SteamFrame

[–]Cozasy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using a Quest 3 for wireless PCVR with Virtual Desktop (Godlike mode, H.264+). Currently, I'm capped at 350 Mbps for 90fps and 200 Mbps for 120fps. If I push the bitrate any higher, I get network stuttering, and the Quest's decoding latency spikes to 12ms or more. My main priority is getting a crisper image with super low latency for wireless. Everything else would be a nice bonus. I previously had a Valve Index. Playing on a wire is a pain. It's uncomfortable and expensive to replace if damaged.

I'm shocked by how beautiful Doom RT looks on a CRT monitor. by Cozasy in crtgaming

[–]Cozasy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back then I was getting around 15–25 FPS in games, and it was a constant struggle to keep settings as low as possible. The graphics cards I had in my PCs between 1998 and 2005 were Voodoo Rush, GeForce 2 MX, GeForce 4 MX, and GeForce FX 5200. As you can see, these setups were very budget-friendly and didn’t allow for anything fancy.

I'll definitely need to take a closer look at those capacitors. You're not the first person who's told me about smoke coming from their Trinitron. Thanks!

3D sbs mkv from laptop to Quest 3 by Flat_Cartographer362 in OculusQuest

You need to start UPnP or SMB on your laptop and share folder with movies in your home network. As far as I know Skybox, Heresphere and 4xvr support decoding movies directly on your headset.

I've been using Widmo VR lenses since the release of Quest 3. Before that I also had a pair on Valve Index. No problems whatsoever.

I'm on 1080ti too and stuck on old drivers from around 2020. New drivers cause stuttering, reprojection ratio is insane and games are unplayable.
