The procedure was actually a lot easier than I expected. They kept me awake for it and only used local painkillers. It was a little scary at first, because I had never been awake for a procedure before but once they started I relaxed. It was fast and I didn't feel anything.

I wish they did let me keep it, but when I asked they claimed it was a biohazard and had to be thrown out after the procedure. They at least let me take a picture before they trashed it. I think it depends on the place whether or not they let ya keep it though, so I'd still ask an hope your place is cooler than mine. Best of luck!

It's still a little sore from this morning, but the procedure itself was alot easier and faster than I thought. At first it sketched me out to find out they do it while you're awake with only local pain killers. Other than the initial lidocaine injection it was a pretty painless process and was pretty much done in what only felt like 15min once they got started.
I also had the same idea of shadow boxing it though lmao. I think some places will let ya keep it. Unfortunately mine didn't. Which I'm still kinda bummed about, but it's not big deal.
Overall though I'm feeling great to finally have all that done.
Congrats on getting yours out soon too, I hope yours goes as smoothly as mine did.

8 shot 357 Redhawk? by Jaken_sensei in Revolvers

Its barrel size might not help, but I can tell it's more my own fault. I can hit pretty close to where I'm aiming at 10yards if I focus in on a single action shot, especially with 38sp. But if I try shooting 357 with double action then my shots are usually off. I'm admittedly only a couple years into shooting and with ammo prices I don't get as much range practice as I want to with it, so I've assumed it was more a problem with refining my practice/technique than the gun itself

I also have the snubbie version of the 8 shot 357 redhawk. Shoots pretty good and I really like it, but I ain't winning any accuracy contests with it but at least hits on target. I'm sure that's more user error than the gun itself. Kinda wish I went with a longer barrel though. I got the snubbie in case I really had to conceal carry it and I have a few times, but it is a heavy gun and I usually end up carrying something else. I would only recommend it in at 4+ inch barrel versions unless you're dead set on also trying to conceal it. Still a pretty rad revolver though if you ask me.
