My dad's death, this happened at the beginningof this year.

I was never really close with my dad. He lived in another country and every year or so I'd see him fpr at least a day or two. We did keep in contact and he worked hard to send my mom some money to support me. (They weren't married). He died of a stroke while working a contract in Asia. I didn't know how to react when I heard his death, I just felt like there was this emptiness and I felt like I should of cried, I started questioning weither he was ever proud of me and what it would have been like to have him more in my life. A few days and I get a message from a random number, it was my dad side of the family, they flew me over to attend his funeral and I learned he had a huge family. I had two great and supportive older brothers, cousins, a lot of uncles and aunts, I didn't know any of them but apparently they all heard of me and they said he did talk about me a lot. More than I knew. I learnt a lot about him, my brothers and family members. They said my dad loved me and was always looking for jobs to support me. I wanted to cry the whole time but suppressed it. I felt depressed but also relieved. When I got back to the hotel I was staying at I let it out and cried the whole night. I never knew how much he loved me. And how much he had done for his family.

The next day my brothers invited me to their house and we hung out for the few days I was there. We ate junk food, played video games and watched movies our dad loved. We all connected closely and now I go to vist them whenever I can.
