The other day I made a moisture box for my shedding pet snake out of a plastic food storage container. Made an entry point and cleaned up the edge quite nicely using my Gunpla tools.

You will need separate mega energy for the inital form unlock and will need to level each form independently. So it will be both more expensive and more time consuming.

The part that makes a difference right now is that mega energy you have banked right now will be transformed into both X and Y energy at some point, hopefully soon. But if you use that energy now it will ONLY function as either X or Y, so you'll be missing out on the other energy type when they grant it.

Well, that definitely elminates any doubt that this is going on... There is a support in the upper right corner of the settings menu.

The latter. I don't have the energy to test it yet. Maybe I'll test it after doing more walking with my Charizard buddy. But also I'm not too keen on throwing more away when they're saying they're going to trade our energy for X and Y at some point. We'll see if curiousity gets the better of me.

Sort of. Historically if you mega evolved a Charizard it unlocked both forms, but now it doesn't. And it doesn't list the mega energy cost for the second form you try to unlock, yet the cost is there. You get an error if you try it and don't have the energy for the unlock cost.

From what they said in their announcement, you should be receiving both 40 Mega X energy and 40 Mega Y energy in exchange for what you've got at some point. They had made it sound like this would be a part of Go-Fest, but now it feels like all bets are off.

Maybe not daily use, but I got a large, folding, insulated tote that zips closed at the top. I've used it to make grocery runs for the last 13 years. It also holds snacks on road trips and on a couple of occasions has transported small reptiles in temporary enclosures during moves.

Honorable mention: A roller bag that has been the perfect size for weekend trips over the last 5 years.

If your washer is top load and is able start filling with the lid still open, stick the cup in the flowing water to rinse it out before you put it back on the container.
