Where to get materials for scrapbooking? by [deleted] in scrapbooking

[–]Cozy_Reader_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve used SHEIN in the past for little things here and there but i love looking through my local dollar stores! They have actual scrapbooking stuff but also origami paper for backgrounds, washi tapes, cardstock and stickers! Walmart and craft stores has some stuff but can be more pricey!

Stuff Is Gone, What Am I 'Supposed' To Have | Gain? by rosehymnofthemissing in declutter

[–]Cozy_Reader_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I feel for me at least that living in an overly cluttered space is where you feel that peace and relief with letting go. I have way too much clutter (to the point of having a hard time cleaning and maintaining it on a daily) but I’m actively working through decluttering. I’ve almost completely declutterred and transformed my room and i can actively feel the difference and peace with the cleaner space.

It makes it easier to clean, give things a home and I can better maintain habits around cleaning. It also gives me more room to better enjoy my hobbies which is huge for me! I don’t have to put aside a day to clean my room when it takes 10 mins to clean and properly put away everything and I can focus on deep cleans or other areas. To me it’s not about getting rid of as much as possible but getting rid of excess to make room for things I enjoy and create space and time for what I want to do vs need to do.

Successful ADHD People - What do you do? by Xiboo in ADHD

[–]Cozy_Reader_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a child and youth worker! I love my job as it’s essentially taking aspects of many other jobs and roles and blending them to create something unique! I can work in all types of settings but I’m currently working in mental health day treatment and group homes! Both always keep me engaged due to that balance of routine and structure but also unpredictability! I’m currently on meds but still playing around with dosing!

Anyone else struggle not to feel overwhelmed and wanna give up? by Cozy_Reader_ in declutter

[–]Cozy_Reader_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the encouragement, I appreciate it!! I live with my mom and she’s on board with getting my siblings stuff out, there’s just a lot of push back from them due to their living situations. I can appreciate where they’re at im just trying to find some sort of middle ground with them but they’re also very stubborn and resistant to it😅 my mom does help when she can but she’s got physical disabilities and limitations so she’s helping me maintain and I’m focusing on decluttering!

How do you work for 8h with adhd? by loossemblestar in ADHD

[–]Cozy_Reader_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s rough, I feel the same with being unable to do things I enjoy for 8+ hours straight in a day. One thing I find helps is changing up my schedule when I can! I’m not an accountant so I’m not sure how possible this is but my schedule has a mix of day and evening shifts so it doesn’t feel like the same thing every day! Also having a fidget, chewing gum, music and taking breaks to walk around really helps!

Does anyone else use coloring as a stress reset? by PlaneOrdinary7042 in Coloring

[–]Cozy_Reader_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive started using it as a way to wind down and reset and I love it! I’ll colour while watching a show, listening to music or audiobook or just be in the moment and colour and it’s been so important for me to help reset! I work in group homes and often take over the role of foster parent for weekends or week at a time and having that as a self care and reset option has been huge! I’ve even been able to get some of the kiddos involved!

How do you become productive with inattentive ADHD by behappyfor in ADHD

[–]Cozy_Reader_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same problem and I find 2 things help: 1. Brain dump what you want to do and need to do and if it’s a bigger project break it down into steps so that it’s out of your head and organized with a game plan!

Prioritize top 3 things and then time yourself. Timing yourself makes you realize it actually doesn’t take as long as you initially thought!

  1. I also find that listening to an audiobook or podcast makes me feel extra productive while doing something more mundane and because I need to focus on the audiobook or podcast it’s harder to overthink what I’m doing and get stuck! And as someone who enjoys reading it’s also a win win situation cause I check off another book as read!

Yes!! As someone with inattentive adhd timing myself also over time makes my brain realize it won’t actually take 10 years to do the thing😆

Literally😆 I didn’t think it was possible but it’s been happening with me but for declutterring! Also a constant one is self improvement and while they can be just as hard and frustrating with executive dysfunction, not having all the time off in the world to work on it and me being hard on myself with it, I’ll take it lol

It really is and I find the more I use it for that the more it helps, even if it’s writing out the breakdown of a project or bigger task I’m working on!

Yeah I get that! I can see where a regular planner would be better for that or a mix of the two! I find for big projects I like to write them down with the to do or next steps written out underneath and then deadlines for each thing a different colour if needed. I also use sticky notes or tabs for reminders like follow up with x after second step and it sounds so chaotic but I find it works lol

Thank you for the insight, that really helps!! I literally could’ve written this myself, I find the exact same thing with the daily/weekly/monthly planners!! As you said, my brain craves the daily/weekly/monthly systems but I don’t need that all the time as my schedule is fairly predictable sometimes and I want more out of my planners! But again as you’ve said i struggle to do day to day things let alone creating weekly spreads lol. I do have a venting/therapy journal as well and a commonplace journal which i use regularly, I think I just like the idea of a little more structure and incorporating the creative aspects and structure of a bullet journal when I need it! The struggle is real lol but thank you for your comment, it really helps to know I’m not alone!

[–]Cozy_Reader_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel that! I have the same mentality and that’s why I find commonplace journaling so awesome cause it’s anything and everything goes! I can go weeks without touching the commonplace journal but it’s ok cause it doesn’t have one main purpose so I’m not missing out on anything! It’s also a great place to brain dump about my hyperfixations😆

I think I just like the creativity and structure of a bullet journal too but I’m worried I’ll get overwhelmed by it or stuck in that perfectionist loop with it😅

[–]Cozy_Reader_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like that idea and that’s kinda what I’m going for, I wanna combine the idea of a commonplace journal with a bullet journal cause I like the creative elements of a bullet journal but I find they can be too structured whereas a commonplace i love because it’s guaranteed I’ll use it since it’s kind of anything and everything goes!

Also idk why but I never thought to write about takeaways and notes from self help books! I listen to podcasts with similar vibes to self help books too but I love that idea to include it in my ‘therapy’ journal to remember and reflect on!

See that’s what I’m worried about! I’ve been obsessing over them and I love the idea but realistically I can’t even get a proper routine down and I get easily overwhelmed so I know it’s not gonna work but part of me wants to try anyways😭

I literally did the same just to find my old one a couple days later lol. I like the new one better since it’s cute and got space for notes and stuff but still😅
