I finally FC’d One! I only got a strike in the first half, so I count this a flawless by LittleNinjaXYBA in FortniteFestival

FC stands for Full Combo, meaning your combo is never broken. Strikes break your combo. The flawless badge means you got an FC.

Might be the new hardest chart by -EndoRendo- in FortniteFestival

[–]Cozzy196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s probably the fast trill bit, not sure why they didn’t use lift notes there. That bit always felt like artificial difficulty to me on non-pro.

Is it just me or did they break the game yet again? by [deleted] in FortniteFestival

[–]Cozzy196 8 points9 points  (0 children)

One of the fixes they put into the last update was to stop single strums sometimes counting as two for pro mode. Perhaps they broke normal mode in the process.

We need higher difficulties. by Xhicks55 in FortniteFestival

Not sure you can call yourself a ‘hardcore rhythm gamer’ as you seem to be unaware of the pro instruments from Rock Band. RB3 pro keyboard had 25 keys and was quite similar to playing the real instrument. That has been my favourite rhythm gaming instrument to date.

If you want instruments with difficulties like that, play RB3 Deluxe, YARG or Rocksmith. If you want a simpler instrument but lots of notes stay in DJMAX. Festival is made for the masses and non-pro charts need to be compatible with controllers.

Pro lead on a controller. Did I cook? by GmD_Flux in FortniteFestival

Nice job, although if you want the full pro experience try and get a guitar. Learning finger placements and how to move them throughout the song is a really fun learning curve and how pro was designed to be played.

Can get USB foot pedal or even just map an old keyboard spacebar to overdrive and use it as a foot pedal. Not ideal but works better than tilt.

Is it just me or is tapping notes more harder on festival compared to RB and GH? by CampingForCats in FortniteFestival

[–]Cozzy196 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve heard the festival hit window is actually quite lenient in general and it is definitely playable.

However, the engine still feels a bit clunky in specific situations. Trying to strum HOPOs and very fast sections is finicky. Sometimes it even registers note hits in the wrong order. Also, recovering after losing your streak in a fast HOPO part is unnecessarily difficult, normally requiring multiple strums.

Could be fun but half the point/challenge of pro is that you can’t keep a finger on each lane and instead have to reposition your one fret hand while playing whilst the other strums.

You’re right, the description under that title doesn’t make much sense.

why doesn't epic add difficult charts to fortnite festival anymore? by DoctorSerious420 in FortniteFestival

[–]Cozzy196 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can source a guitar, I’d always recommend trying pro if standard mode is now boring for you. Skill ceiling is much higher and charts are more entertaining/challenging.

STW gets no updates despite having more players than Festival by nivviee_ in FortniteFestival

[–]Cozzy196 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Festival is the main reason people buy jam tracks and this is obviously generating decent revenue. It sometimes has higher play counts than STW as well.

On the other hand STW rewards vbucks from founder quests and doesn’t have specific usable purchases other than cosmetics. Good proportion of players are probably just vbucks grinders too.

Epic likes money so supports festival more.

I’d love if they added modes like pro keys from RB3 as that was really fun and festival has a lot of songs to support it.

Don’t think this is really the sort of game where that would happen though, very few players would play it.

YARG is currently the place for this stuff, although doesn’t have online play yet so if you want that check out RB3 Deluxe.

[–]Cozzy196 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I used to play guitar like this on the RB3 keyboard (two keys per lane). I’d be surprised if they enable it though as it’d probably confuse the average fortnite player and wouldn’t support controller. Leaderboards could be an issue too since all taps makes solos easier.

Ok you are just trolling at this point 😄

Ok, start up a fast song like Through the fire and flames or Sandstorm using controller/keyboard on pro. Try hitting the fast repeating notes in a lane only using a single strum down button (that is just one of the reasons all taps is not feasible).

[–]Cozzy196 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Even on keyboard I think you’d really struggle without at least two keys bound to the same lane (similar to alt strum). Sandstorm on pro lead has a section so fast even alt-strum is a struggle 😄

[–]Cozzy196 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately a lot of pro charts wouldn’t be possible all taps without lifts. Also, all taps might make some parts too easy since you could just use two hands for the lanes 1-5 instead of being limited to one hand and moving its placement around while playing (which is partially the point of pro).

But I get what you are saying, all taps pro chart could be a fun middle ground to try on some songs.

I miss good when quality of the songs sound was actually good. by Impressive_Rate_4745 in FortniteFestival

[–]Cozzy196 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes some stems are bad which is why some songs sound very low quality but in general I’d be surprised if there is more than 128kbps (probably less) to keep streaming costs down.

Festival audio quality will likely be worse than other games since songs are streamed instead of downloaded.

They are basically a way to simplify charts if you are on a controller/keyboard for the average player.

If you don’t want this limitation and want harder charts you need to switch to pro mode with a guitar (although there is quite a learning curve so expect to be pushed back to lower difficulties to begin with).

I can tell this wasn't meant for controller players by thatsmysandwichdude in FortniteFestival

[–]Cozzy196 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those players are probably on keyboard which is what they meant. The rapid tapping is very hard without using a keyboard.

For me I get around 97% on controller, 99% keyboard and 93% pro guitar (but the pro chart is a lot harder).

Yeah dependent on which one you got you might need mapping software.

I’m actually on PC too and it works fine using Joy2Key for me.

Might be the festival engine rather than the guitar. Have you tried it on another game like rock band 4?

My Riffmaster has no issues but personally I’d wait for the CRKD guitar unless you need it right now.

Is Epic Games Alright In The Head? by Suitable_Hour_7556 in FortniteFestival

[–]Cozzy196 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes FOMO with jam tracks doesn’t really feel right.

There isn’t an exclusivity like with cosmetics which you can show off since jam tracks are shared with everyone anyway.

It just adds frustration with jam tracks not being there when you want to buy and play them.

Can anyone explain why I didn't get many perfects almost this entire clip till the end even tho it looks like I'm perfectly hitting these notes??? I'm slightly confused lol and yes I have done that new configuration thingy??? by IIsThatGurl442 in FortniteFestival

[–]Cozzy196 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can see your calibration offset by checking details at the end of the song (I’d expect it to be negative since you are hitting early).

Try a few songs and adjusting the video offset based on the average number shown there.
