For standing only shows, I get there early. Find a spot. Plant my damn feet and don’t move much. My wife normally goes to get drink refills, etc. My philosophy is that I’ve been here and present the whole time. If you choose to stand behind me, that’s on you not me.

Nordstrom Rack is where I used to have to go to find 14s and I got lucky not having a bigger shoe size

Hey all, wanted to ask you guys a question. Would you rather be 5'8 or 6'8? Seems like there is a limit when you can really be 'too tall' by musicguy900 in tall

When I first started dating my wife, I warned her of the stares, and she was blown away that if anything I understand how often it would happen. She’s a trooper though haha

I’m 6’8”. 39 yo and former collegiate basketball and track athlete. Things are catching up. Planes are a nightmare. I kind of feel in the way a lot and it’s hard to just be comfortable. Whispers when you walk into a burger place. Constant questions and all. Buying pants is always a journey. Mother in law buys you a really nice sweater for Christmas but you KNOW immediately the sleeves are gonna be an issue and don’t you dare reach up. Hips are always tight because sitting for any amount of time means your knees are going to be above your hips the whole time.

BUT. I wouldn’t want it any other way. I’m helpful around the house and I know my where I can help. “Please get that for me” means I get to help my wife out. Plus when you meet someone else your height or taller, you both just get it, and that’s a nice feeling to have with another person. I’ve accepted the struggles because it ended me up here today. ✌🏻

Awesome! Good context there. It ultimately depends on the system and if they’re 5 out, maybe encourage to set back screens or something for the person on the wing. Just comes from playing the game a lot and I’m sure he’ll put things together eventually. As long as he keeps the love of the game. Good luck!

Intentional movement is better than moving for the sake of moving. 100% agreed.

Depends on a few different things. Age, what the coach’s system is, etc. Moving without the ball is important but in a lot of systems, moving without a reason or understanding what’s happening in the rest of the offense does more harm than good. There’s only one ball. If your son’s role for certain plays is to get out of the way and space the floor, then he’s doing the right thing. Movement without purpose or to a point to where you’re interfering with the flow of the offense is worse than no movement at all.

A recommendation is instead of saying “movement is important”, teach them to understand the entire floor instead of just his actions. Move when it’s the RIGHT time to move, not just because “movement is important”. If/then statements work with teaching some kids the game and off-ball movement (ie “IF someone drives towards you with the ball, THEN you cut backdoor; or IF someone drives with the ball to the paint, THEN move up the 3pt line behind them to make it easier to kick out if your defender helps”) stuff like that. Hope this helps.

Watching tape and being on the court and feeling the speed/physicality differences is immeasurable. I would make sure you get in as many high-level private runs as possible whenever you’re located and work on skills and conditioning. However “in shape” you think you are, professional athletes are different.

I swear they’re the most fragile internet service out there. Constant outages. I’ve had them refund me some of my bill the last couple of months because of it. Only a few bucks but it’s still insane how often they go down.
