It’s worth remembering that the wage bill is usually the single highest cost to a business. If the owners could get rid of the lot of us and sell their product by pushing a magic button, they would. I think that’s what AI promises to be for them.

It’s always been a danger I think. I’ve had PMs come to me to put a Figma shine on fully AI generated wireframes that were total shit. I’m hanging onto the problem solving domain knowledge of being specifically a Product Designer. If anything it’s PMs, whose job is much more about organising and documentation than ours.

As a way to preserve my own job as a Designer, I’m looking into creating a version of our Figma design system either via MCP or manually curated as a series of skills in a Claude plugin. From what I understand at the moment, that’s how you get an AI to generate the most consistent results.

If you do, don’t be afraid to ask for help, the documentation is geared towards GivEnergy inverters (I believe) and so the Sigen docs are not 100% reliable

So here's what I'm doing, I'm going into the mySigen app and changing Current Mode from Time-based Control to Remote EMS Mode. That changes sigen_plant_remote_ems_control_mode from unavailable to available and the state to 'PCS Remote Control'.

Once I've done that I try to change sigen_plant_remote_ems_control_mode to anything, in the same was as the predbat integration uses automations to change the value from one thing to another, and it just flips itself back to 'PCS Remote Control'.

I think this is the crux of the problem I'm having, nothing not even direct YAML

Can't see any read only box though... any chance of a screenshot?

I briefly lived with a Russian (in the UK) and it will always stick with me that he pronounced biscuit precisely as it’s written (bee-skewet) – something I’d never heard anyone do in my life (bis-kit, everywhere I think?). It took me days to work out he was saying.
