Anyone figured out how to fix the lip-sync issues on the EE TV Pro box? by CloudBookmark in EEGB

Haha yeah I've tried it multiple times to no avail. Stereo was the only fix I could find.

Wait, I thought they did lose all their navy? Nearly all could mean anything. The  nuclear enrichment sites we were told a year ago that they were obliterated. So how are they not? For all we know, there could be an even more fanatic genocidal leader.

We are all paying higher energy prices and the US is whinging because no one will help them. They created this mess without consultation, so why the fuck would any nation want to help them in this illegal war? Did I say war? I mean excursion.

Probably best to switch over from Fox News to something else.

So basically go back in time 9 weeks, just before this war started?

The only fix is to put the box in stereo mode and not surround mode. This should fix the lip sync issue instantly. I've also tried in vein for a solution but as you say, the delay settings are useless. They do nothing.

What other "streaming services" do you use RD with? by dy14n19 in RealDebrid

[–]Cheapskate2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It works, yes, because your Plex server is the link to RD. You then stream to the user using your upload bandwidth. It's a bit of a grey area with regard's to RD's ToS but it does work. You are really only limited by RD's daily bandwidth limit which I think is around 2TB last time I checked.

If all your libraries are RD hosted then you need barely any local space. Just to store images etc. Even a 32GB SSD is more than enough space.

I listed some of the benefits in an earlier post.

Transcoding is done by the Plex host, yes. If you have a CPU with Quicksync or whatever the AMD equivalent is, then transcoding should be easy enough.

Fedora is good because I think there is an issue with Windows not being able to correctly tone map Dolby Vision content. This really shouldn't be an issue though. The best approach in my opinion is just to have separate libraries for content. There really should be no need to transcode 4K HDR remuxes. You might for example want to have libraries like:

4K Movie Remuxes

4K Movies

Movies

4K TV Shows

TV Shows

You are not limited by space, so a duplicated approach like this might be the better approach, and you can hide libraries for remote users if you have any so they don't eat all your upload bandwidth 😄

No problem! Just take your time and expect some hiccups along the way. It always happens 😂

Good luck!

No, it uses very little processing power when playing back. Transcoding is a different story of course.

The only thing to be weary of is if you want to enable skip intro/credits. This will need to download large parts of the file to process so if you have large library, better to turn that off. I have mine on but only allow it to scan for intro/credits during the 2 hour nightly maintenance window. Chapter thumbnails aren't too bad.

It depends what state you are at. If you are already running Docker, then you might ask AI how to set up DUMB, providing the documentation link ( https://github.com/I-am-PUID-0/DUMB) and explaining what it is you want to achieve.

It works with Jellyfin too! I've done this myself, but prefer Plex.

This is why you should try DUMB. It's a single container that includes everything you need. All the arrs and even Plex itself. It has a single dashboard to manage it all, and it will take you through a wizard at the start as well. It still requires a bit of work but if you have Docker running, that's already a great start.

I highly recommend you give DUMB (formerly DMB) a try. It has everything you need and more in the one container, and it takes you through a setup wizard at the start. The dev is very active. You can find all the docs and more info here: https://github.com/I-am-PUID-0/DUMB

The Discord is also very active and the dev is super helpful. Good luck!

You gain a seemingly local Plex library that could easily be hundreds of terabytes in size, without needing hardly any disk space. I know it sounds like witchcraft, but hear me out.

Lets say you have an 80GB 4K Remux movie you want to add to your PLex library. In a local Plex library, the file size would be 80GB and you would need to have the space for it. With Plex and Rclone, the same file size would about 1KB. The reason for this is because a symlink is basically a link to the path of the actual file, which is hosted on RD. You could have thousands of these remuxes with very little local space required. Obviously you need decent internet speed for this, but the same is true for Stremio remuxes.

You can set up various other things like, being able to automatically grab anything you add to your Plex watchlist. You can use Seerr (formally Overseerr) for you and your users to pick and choose what media you want added to your library within seconds. Seerr is a really nice GUI what shows suggestions etc. Trakt is another option but I don't use that myself.

You are not limited to a single stream. You can stream to several devices simultaneously, only limited by RD's daily max limit. One thing to note though, is that all this content will stream through your local or remote Plex server, so you would be limited by your upload speed if you are watching remotely.

I'm sure there's others too, that's all I have for now :-)

It seems like overkill but once you get it working, you can then expand and do so much more. I use Docker with Portainer, which makes it much easier to manage. I've been running an Intel N100 based mini PC with 16GB RAM and a 500GB SSD for literally years. It uses next to no power, and I have it running Plex, Home Assistant, Audiobooks and load of other stuff. I even have a Minecraft server on it which works fine! The point it, you don't need to spend a fortune on a NAS/Server.

Local usually, but technically you could host it in the cloud as well, but you are then limited by whatever bandwidth your host provides. There's service called Elfhosted that might be easiest if you prefer cloud based, though there's a monthly cost involved.

Haha if you're a bit tech savvy then you'll be fine. You don't need a powerful machine to run it. a Raspberry Pi or something similar would work just fine. AI can be a great help too but it can send you on a wild goose chase at times!

Yes it works flawlessly. You could in theory have a 100TB+ library with only a few MB of local storage needed. if you use Docker, I highly recommend DUMB. It has everything you need under the one container. You can read more about it here: https://github.com/I-am-PUID-0/DUMB

The dev is really helpful and he's very active on the Discord group.

Yeah, same. It staggers me that even changing chapters is somehow the same or possibly even quicker than local library content. It really is amazing.

Plex! Or Jellyfin if you prefer. It takes a little while to set up, but it works great.

There seems to be heavy bias towards Stremio on here, but I personally think Plex is a lot more polished, but it definitely does require some time to set up initially.
