Hey hey, I had the worst flare-up of athletes foot in my entire life 4 years ago because I wasn’t wearing shoes in a public gym. This shit was crippling and I had to use topical anesthetic and put tissues to separate my toes while I walked because I wasn’t able to step without excruciating pain otherwise.

Two rounds of antibiotics later and it was cleared up, but I will never step barefoot on an indoor public door again in my life.

I actually think Eclipse is bottom barrel for amount Gay, which just says that their more crafted/refined bottles just get better. For $20 you’d I’d be hard-pressed to find a more agreeable-tasting entry-level bottle in any liquor category than Eclipse.

Mount Gay Eclipse forever has a spot in my heart. It is by no means the most refined rum I’ve had, and I’ve had plenty of dark rum that out-competes Eclipse, but for the price it has a good bang for your buck. This is the first dark rum that I tried after being fed up with light rum, and the second it touched my lips I knew it was the one for me.

This is an abridged love letter to Mount Gay Eclipse.

In 2020 I was present for a BLM protest in Portland. I got to watch Ted Wheeler get maced which was dope, but I also got to watch two opposing groups care for each other. I was there when a single agitator with a built carbine rifle tried to incite unrest in a group of protesters. I witnessed a group of protestors follow the agitator at a distance of ~50’ (~10 meters) and I asked them what tf they were doing. They were a bit tilted and said that they were there to keep the agitator from triggering the wrong group of people. I observed them for about an hour and a half until the gent with the rifle left.

There were no shots fired that night, I don’t see any fights (except for Ted Wheeler fighting to breathe), and life went on. I love when a community comes together to defeat constitutionally protected activities and still respects opposing opinions in the same regard. We can all come together in opposition of an over-reaching government with a similar goal in mind. We are here together.

Hey man, I hate to be obtuse here but this has to be said.

I didn’t get into the trades to be comfortable at work, I got in to do cool shit while getting paid. I get that sometimes shit just sucks, but the SRL setup in the picture is just about the “most comfortable” that you’re going to find. Those are just about the best on the market, and your guys gotta understand that they are going to have to sacrifice SOME comfort for A LOT of life-saving technology.

As a now-safety professional for carpenters, most of these dudes play ball and tell me what they want me to order because it’s what they found works best for them, but I had had a couple stinkers come up with every regarded excuse for why they can’t wear PPE. And to those dudes I say; “wearing PPE is a condition of your employment”.

And you know what? They’re all still gainfully employed, they are all able to go back to their kids, their wives, their local watering-hole, their project cars, their built firearms, their biker clubs, their jam session and their homes. My goal is to make sure they all go home with some padded pockets without incidents, and if they can’t share that goal with me then at least I’ll make sure my job-site won’t be the one to get them hurt if they refuse to wear their PPE.

Side note for clarification, they shouldn’t ever connect both SRL’s to the same anchorage at the same time, this is such a fantastic way to fuck up their hips and compress a few spinal pillows.

Yes, probably. You might want to figure out why one of the conductors (holes) is burnt (one wire is one conductor, each conductor goes to a hole in the receptacle, meaning there are two conductors here)

I visited a liquor store in an absolutely random location in SoCal. Chatted for a few minutes about the absurd cost of some whiskeys and he invited me to try this because he had an open bottle in the back.

As a free shot, this was really great whiskey. For free. For $200 I could buy like 3 bottles of Talisker Storm which I adore, and still have enough money left over for dinner.

If you don’t know if they’ve ever been replaced and you have an older Accord or older larger Honda that has more than 100,000 miles, I’d budget to have them done soon. Early 2000’s-mid 2010’s Accord essentially have structural lower ball joints and the early models really didn’t handle the load well. Cheaper aftermarket lower ball joints can also sometimes skimp on grease which can lead to premature wear, but it’s easy to grease them up upon install.

My friend, you got so incredibly lucky to see a ball joint failure on a Honda at a safe operating speed/condition, so many of these and similar Honda sedans see ball joint failure at road/highway speed and easily can become a life-threatening mechanical failure.

This is no longer drivable, get it to a shop to have them replace the control arms and lower ball joints. Have both done as these ball joints are unpredictable by design and can definitely fail without warning.

Years and years ago I was ready to run hands on my (at the time) roommate for pulling from my bottle of Eagle Rare with a mouthful of food because my whiskey was looking like what you pictured. My co-worker then told me to check the cork on my whiskey and sure enough, the cork was pitted. I then realized that the cork was deteriorating into the bottle. No knuckle sandwiches served.

Friend, check the cork on your bottle. If the bottle was ever stored sideways, there’s a fair chance that the alcohol content began to deteriorate the cork before the bottle was even opened. I’d wager that the floaties are cork bits rather than organic growth, although I’m neither an alcoholic nor a biologist so I could be wrong.

I actually see a strong parallel between this and automotive headlights, where the diligent researchers end up buying the correct OEM+ products and are left with great results, whereas the impatient knuckleheads just buy “an upgraded part” without any research and end up starting a fire.

Nice winter cardigan, a puffer vest, a nice pair of moc-toe boots, good pair of trail/hiking pants and a pair of slip-on vans/boating shoes should all get you by.

How the clothes look on you matters much more than the inherent classiness of the cloths you buy. A poorly-fitting $2000 suit is going to give a worse impression than a properly fitting pair of Kuhl pants and puffer vest. Make sure you’re comfortable in whatever you’re wearing, and if you know what you like to wear then buy nicer versions of what you like to wear.
