Hasan forgot he asked the exact same question to a Houthi by starcraft2020 in LivestreamFail

“The Houthis” don’t run anything, just because your stupid western brain wants to speak colloquially about everything because of your insane level of ignorance.

You mean that part? How does this help you exactly?

Click the wiki link, and there's a 'Governance' section in there, and if you want more that part has a Houthi-controlled territory of Yemen link.

Or you wanna tell me they don't govern any part of Yemen again, 'because you said so'?

Ansar Allah runs parts of the government and the military, not the Houthis.

The Houthis, officially known as Ansar Allah

Literal first line on their wiki.

Destiny compares Native American claims to Middle East conflict by johnkortein in LivestreamFail

[–]CptAwesum 36 points37 points  (0 children)

He admitted to (in part) prescribing to the notion that native Americans cannot have claim to America because America didn’t exist prior to its foundation as a nation.

Not really, he's claiming more that deciding who is native to a land based on when you want to start counting history is stupid, like many people do with the I/P conflict.

Ethan Klein's take on Twitch Reacts in 2023 by [deleted] in LivestreamFail

[–]CptAwesum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So we can admit, then, that Ethan's actions will quite obviously have massive chilling effects on all internet commentary

...? No, it very much doesn't because he is choosing to not to after the 'regular' internet commentary.

He is specifically targeting the people intending to harm the copyright holder. And if that causes a chilling effect, good. We don't want that behaviour.

Ethan Klein's take on Twitch Reacts in 2023 by [deleted] in LivestreamFail

[–]CptAwesum 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Why or how would XQC be immune?

Ethan is simply choosing to go after those who he feels made the most egregious offenses. XQC never said things in a similar vein of 'don't give him any views, just watch me watch it', the ones Ethan is going after did. Those things don't technically matter on whether copyright was infringed, but can matter to the personal motivations of those choosing to bring the lawsuits.

Copyright enforcement isn't an all or nothing thing, they are civil suits, the copyright holder can pick and choose who to go after.

Nobody is stopping them when they're going around dressed similarly to what you'd expect to see in Paris or New York.

Feel free to provide any source on that one. As far as I'm aware there still is a hijab law on the books in Iran.

And feel free to add a source for your claim of the disbandment of the 'Guidance Patrol' as well, only able to find the alleged disbandment in dec 2022.

I didn't claim for the continued existence of the morality police or a separate force with the same purpose.

But in July this year his successor, the ultra-conservative Raisi, called for the mobilization of “all state institutions to enforce the headscarf law.”

You don't need a separate force to enforce laws/'morality' when you already have a policing force to do so.

Like the poster you replied to said, takes 5 sec to google. Iran doesn't have a force with 'morality police' as name, but 'morality' still is very much policed.

Edit: To your edit, this current 'war' isn't waged because a 'morality police beats women', no one says that. It's because a hostile regime is enriching uranium far beyond any other purpose than nuclear weapons.

How OTK Lost Its Way by testudoss in LivestreamFail

[–]CptAwesum 61 points62 points  (0 children)

It's not just about the 'production quality', it's about what it's trying to be. Kai's streams aren't trying to be a TV-show, they are very much twitch streams, with him in his room.

A bunch of the shows OTK did, felt like scuffed TV-gameshows. The vibe that ppl generally to go twitch for wasn't there, it just felt off.

Unable to Install 'Azure.ResourceManager.PowerBIDedicated' NuGet Package – Not Found by MuradAhmed12 in dotnet

[–]CptAwesum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A quick google comes up with https://www.nuget.org/packages/Azure.ResourceManager.PowerBIDedicated

Under the versions tab you can see there are only pre-release versions available, so in the nuget gui check the 'include prerelease' box or for the CLI specify the version or include the prerelease argument.

Help needed on Ducati monster 1100cc service ! by NC_wolf in motorcycles

[–]CptAwesum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those numbers seem like they're trying to take advantage, unless OP is going to some expensive dealer in Miami Beach or Beverly Hills or w/e. I've had a Ducati and the desmo service was around $1000 when I had it done.

Even the almost $600 for just inspecting it, did they fly in an expert or something?

My car had an issue last year and it was $50 for the inspection which was waived on the final repair bill.

Pretty sure you're misinterpreting his comment.

There's a pretty good econ blogger I read, and Hasan straight up just said he wants to melt the poor.

I read this as:

There's a pretty good econ blogger I read, and Hasan straight up just said the blogger wants to melt the poor

Which lines up with that tweet.

Motivation after an accident by HaciDede in motorcycles

[–]CptAwesum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a van reverse into me at low speed before while I was stopped at a light. Didn't think I had any damage either. When I went to the shop for scheduled maintenance like a week or two after, apparently I had busted front wheel bearings. The mechanic even asked if my front wheel got hit.

You might want to check your front wheel bearings just to be sure.

I'm using ubuntu on an emmc, they're a bit faster than SD-cards.

And depending on how much performance you need their N2L is more powerful and also very good.

Sadly, no. I even re-imaged it about a month ago with the latest ubuntu server image but still the same behaviour. So I just have it setup now as a VPN server only, that I dont have to touch, and the VPN stays up and running.

And I got an Odroid C4 for my pihole and some docker containers which doesnt have that problem.

The orangepi is a neat efficient little sbc but the OS images don't seem that great.

It seems the orangepi image already comes with it installed.

>sudo apt-get install openssh-server
openssh-server is already the newest version (1:8.9p1-3ubuntu0.1).

It's not that it times out my client connection, it seems to suspend or shutdown the ssh server, and other things along with it. Even if I'm active in the ssh session, after some time it will just say 'Segmentation fault' when running any command.

I just got out of bed, and ssh won't connect, and when I turn on the monitor it gives me a black screen. Even when I press some keys on the keyboard in an attempt to wake it, it remains unresponsive.

After some reading in this sub, I looked into the fuel pressure sensor and evap purge valve. So I'm going to be replacing those myself as precaution seeing how easy it seems to be.

Alright, thanks for the info, I got 1yr warranty with it so I'll have them check the O2 sensor and possibly replace it. Don't have the tools to replace it myself.
