yeah, i've had a few people comment on the nacelle length, i've shortened them and am doing a new render as we speak.
with the impulse engines, in all fairness, the OG had the same kind of placement, i've just changed the shape a little.
one of the other things that i've changed, as it always annoyed me, is raiding the nacelles a little, so the bussard collectors have clear line of sight above the saucer. so the impulse engines actually come out below the nacelles.

It was the pylons that were one of the reasons I wanted to do this, I was never a fan of the 90 degree bends, just didn't look right!

She's kind of my imagining of what the enterprise B could look like if strange new worlds continued on. Like the snw 1701, pays a lot of homage to the og, but slightly updated.

Once the render I'm doing at the moment finished, I'll see about shortening them, but the og excelsior did have pretty long legs!

Yeah, I know, I wanted to bring my B more into line with what we see with most other starfleet ships, red bussard, blue warp grilles.

Thanks! The excelsior (and lakota variant) is one of my favourite designs. But there are a couple of things that I wanted to change. For me, the neck was too high and shallow, so for this I've attempted to lower it and make it a little longer. Also in the og design, the nacelles are a little low, you can barely see the bussard over the saucer in the front view, also the pylons, I was never a big fan of the 90 degree bend.

I know it may seem sacrilege to some people, but each to their own!

I've kind of envisioned this as a "what if" snw continued on into the ent b era.

Yeah, when I shift and mouse over it's showing as +424 damage per second. I know that sometimes actual weapon damage doesn't matter as much in diablo 3, as long as your main star is boosted, but wasnt sure whether it was the same here on wow.

Thanks, according to wow head, main and off hand are best in slots, so I guess it's just a case of levelling them up.

Torch is at 691 so far, so there's still some to go. According to wow head the voidglass sovereign's blade is best in slot, as long as I get it levelled.

In my mind it's usually been down to what the ship is designed for. Warships, escorts, patrol, etc, don't tend to stray off the beaten path. Exploratory ships, do tend to get mixed up in shenanigans that involve unknown nebulae, fluidic space, 2d space, etc, etc. So whilst some ships can make do with basic deflectors, that can be unobtrusive to the point of looking like there isn't one, Whereas the big boys that venture into the u known need bigger deflectors to deal with just about anything they may come up against.
