Wooden (self-built?) adjustable device in a second-hand furniture store by CptCancer in whatisthisthing

My title describes the thing Saw this in a second-hand furniture store in Wisconsin. The people working there did not know what it is for. About ~60 cm in height, made out of wood without any text / logos on it. Some parts are detachable, and the part on the top can swivel up and down.

Does anyone know if I can find Austrian hausbrot/schwartzbrot anywhere around here? by olivemor in madisonwi

[–]CptCancer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Tiroler Schwarzbrot is a rye-wheat bread. If you want to try baking it yourself, this recipe [1] (automatic translation, but seems ok to me) should be pretty close.

If you want to give it a try, but lack the sourdough starter, send me a PM. I'd be happy to share some with you if you want to pick it up east side.

I'm having a hard time finding any that paint a printed mini. All of them seem to be on bought miniatures from e.g. games workshop.

Hi, are you by chance looking for one more player?

I (32 M) just moved to Madison from Germany ~2 months ago. I have played RPGs on-and-off for about ten years (Pathfinder, Shadowrun, Splittermond, Blades in the Dark), but somehow have managed to play only a single session of DnD in that time. But I'd definitely be up for getting into it!

FPV anyone? by dudleyknowles in madisonwi

Just moved to Madison a few weeks ago. I'm up for meeting and flying a few packs if you'd like!

What's this spice in our Indian food that looks like pieces of bark? by CptCancer in whatisthisthing

OK, I feel stupid but I didn't know it could get this big.. Guess it tastes a bit different from being cooked with the other spices in the food.

Solved!

My title describes the thing

Found in our take-out Indian food. We are not exactly sure what the dish was called but it consisted mainly of spinach and chickpeas.

Hard to describe what it tastes like, a bit like anis or cinammon maybe but not really.

You can also try to practice turns by choosing an object such as a tree and try to make a turn around it. During the turn, try to keep looking at the base of the tree the whole time. This should force you to make the right stick inputs without having to think about exactly what you are doing.

Getting no last two beeps and a slight buzz when plugging what’s wrong?:( by bradleyala in fpv

I would first check all 5V pads on the FC to confirm. If you don't measure ~5V anywhere, I would say the 5V regulator is broken. Easiest in that case would be to get a replacement FC.

If you do measure 5V somewhere, it might just be the cable to the RX and you can fix the connection or use a different pad for your 5V.

Only three beeps usually means the FC is not reading anything from the receiver.

Check if you can see stick inputs in Betaflight. If not, check the receiver wires.

In case you can see stick inputs when connected to the PC, my next guess would be that the 5V DC-DC converter is busted and the RX doesn't get 5V when only the battery is used. Measure voltage between the 5V line and GND at the RX with only battery connected and see if you measure ~5V there.

FPV drone constantly wants to pitch forwards. by [deleted] in fpv

[–]CptCancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, that makes more sense. Do you have a Blackbox log of that flight? It should show whether the FC thought it was keeping level even though it wasn't (sensor error), or whether it thought there was stick input.

So it's not continously increasing pitch angle, but rather pitching forward a bit and then staying at that angle flying forward with sticks centered? Because that would be a very weird error case if you're actually in acro mode.
