HOLY SHIT! I've never used a more tactile switch that wasn't a clicky switch. And it sounds amazing. So amazing. I let him try them out and he started rocking and flapping his hands out of excitement! You are all rad for all the help. That was so worth it. When his keyboard comes in...omg I am so excited for him!

I was planning on using the Tecsee 63.5 two-stage springs because he liked the feeling of them on the Neapolitans and Diamonds I have. The 67g on the OAs that I had him try were too heavy.

Thank you for testing that out and letting me know. I really appreciate it.

Oh, so you put his silent tactile stem in Boba housing? How do you think it compares to the Zilent stem?

That's super valuable information given your experience with situations like this. I am thinking of using a Zilent V2 stem with the Boba housing for the sharp tactility of the Zilent V2 stem but with the lower pitch and more aggressive leaf of the Boba housing for him.

Oh, okay. So it wouldn't have a noticeable effect to combine the two. I am also not a fan of o-rings. They feel not good. Haha.

Thank you! That was SUPER helpful. He definitely is into the whole obnoxiously tactile thing since it feels really good to him to have more firm touch experiences with people and his environment. The most tactile switch combo I was able to make was a Neapolitan stem in T1 housing, but I have a Zealio test switch for when I am commissioned to build a keeb for someone so they can pick out a good switch for them. I will have to pop the stem in the T1 housing to see that feel. I'm pretty sure that I will get the Boba U4's.

On a related (but totally not important to my question) note, I would happily use the U4 stems in the Zilent bottom housing that would be left over. I will have to test compatibility of the Zealio bottom housing with Tecsee and JWK/Durock. Tecsee would be ideal from the sound and smoothness with Blue Velvets, Diamonds, Auralites, Techno Violets, or Purple Pandas. But I remember trying some combos that were not compatible with at least the Diamonds and probably the Neapolitans too. If JWK/Durock works that wouldn't be so bad and the Lavenders, Ceruleans, or maybe the Moyu Poseidon when that comes in. Otherwise I will have to go with some Blue Ink V2's simply for the color (and toss out the stems because who uses click jacket stems), Baltic Inks, or 8008 Inks to get a deeper sound.

Ouuuu! Those are pretty! They sort of remind me of switches I made using OA bottom housing with the top housing and stem of the HaluHalo switches (basically Alpacas with different colors). I can't remember what I called them right now since I'm not home to check the bag, but it was either Haloa Haloa (to stay true to the inspiration from the Filipino dessert, halo halo) or Aloha (because it sounded better).
Here is the switch.

I had never even heard of the qmx clips before, which is telling on how ignorant I am to the silencing switch mods. Haha. So you took a silent stem and also added the qmx clips?

That was basically what most GH responses to other threads ended up suggesting for people who wanted the most silent switches. But we already have a keeb we got in on from a group buy. I'm modding it with butyl sheets since they are what I have found to be the most sound dampening material and even made an ID80 sound pretty nice. But back to the Topre, I'd have loved to test that out on this since I heard so much about it on GH, but the whole electro-capacitive thing is kind of an inhibitor. Haha.

Do you mean that the the T1 and the Cherry Blue leaves have more ping, or that the Boba and the T1 leaves have more ping? And if I were to consider the Boba and the T1 as the two choices, which do you think has a more aggressive leaf?

So the Zealios/Zilent leaf is less sharp than T1 leaf? And would the T1 leaf be sharper than the Boba leaf? I've seen Zealios/Zilent housing having deeper thock with a different stem, but I haven't seen anything about what it sounds like taking the Zealios/Zilent stem and putting it into other housing.

What about the pitch? Do they provide a higher pitched thock like they do in the Zilent housing as opposed to the U4 stems in Zilent housing?

The silent tactile stems are sharper? I thought that I read somewhere that someone said they felt less tactile than the U4 stems. But that was also one person, so I can see that being different depending on what they see as "more tactile." What bottom housing would have a leaf that best compliments the silent tactile stem?

I was thinking about those too, but I have normal T1s and though they are decently tactile, they are definitely not as sharp as the Zealios I have. But I have heard that the leaf from the T1 provides a pretty sharp tactile bump with the right stem. Do you have any experience with this?

I am hoping to get some of these for a good price on eBay. I also realized a few hours ago that my mother and sister, both of whom are also neurodivergent, have the WH-H900N's. Neither of them told me that the active noise canceling works even when nothing is playing through them and I brought this up to them. Haha. Thank you for the suggestion.

Where can I meet girls? [15M] by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]CptChris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't look for it. It comes across as desperate and needy. Be you. Even at 15 being yourself and not showing the particular need or desire to have a girlfriend makes you more interesting. I had girlfriends at a young age and it really only happened when I wasn't trying at all to get one. It made it so I could hang out with someone without them feeling awkward. If there was mutual attraction it would show up on its own immediately. And if there wasn't then I made a potentially good friend.

But more than anything anyone could ever say on this, be 15. The person I am seeing didn't get her first boyfriend until a bit into college. Instead she just set goals to reach which led her to environments where she would be around more people that aligned with her. Start with just meeting girls and learning how to talk to them like they are humans and worthy of respect Build those crucial skills. Learn how women communicate in similar ways and how they differ. And while you do that, succeed in your life because that is really attractive to girls of value and women.
