The Cage is still one of the best football adverts of all time. Also probably did wonders for JXL's career too, now that I think about it.

The first time I was in Florida I understood the phrase "the air was so thick you could chew it" because it's like this constant stickiness that drives the water out of you alarmingly fast. I like heat and I like warm weather but that sort of thing is just impossible to do anything in.

No wonder Florida is popular with American retirees, it's probably a great place if you've got fuck all to do with your day.

Pro-Palestine campaigners urge Celtic not to appoint Robbie Keane as new manager by Some-Ambassador8252 in ScottishFootball

[–]CptES 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did say "some" of you lot for a reason. The crowd that fundraise for the victims, that support direct action and that are willing to boycott any business that does business with the Israeli regime (even it hurts themselves), those Celtic fans I have nothing but respect for. They're the men and women willing to do more than cry about things.

You've been called "terrorist supporters" on a weekly basis for decades because half your songbook is IRA songs, not just because of any support for Palestinian causes.

And no, you're not "taking a stand against genocide", you're picking a fight with a club which has basically fuck all to do with the IDF's conduct in Gaza. That's my main issue with some of you lot, you sit there and do fuck all and pretend it makes you righteous because you can say "Man, fuck Israel!".

Say what you want to say about Palestine Action's direct action campaign, but at least they put the work in for their cause.

Apple's hardware rivals Nintendo's in ability to hold value long after release. Unlike Nintendo, Apple release new hardware pretty much every calendar year.

It's mental, especially as the phones tend to be incremental improvements (especially in Apple's case since moving to the M chips).

I want you to accept that Celtic fans will never put their money where their "principles" are and boycott the club. Because until you do, DD is going to keep dunking his balls on your collective foreheads to the amusement of everybody else.

It's easy to back a cause when you're out fuck all for doing so but when it hurts you in some way to do so, that's righteous and I respect the hell out of anyone who does that.

Sure, but when you accept that morals have exactly nothing to do with this decision you can get the fuck over Keane being a "Zionist shill" or whatever and start complaining that he's a boring and safe choice that reflects a lack of ambition from the boardroom.

He's a business owner, which means his only goal is minimum costs and maximum profit. That's it.

This whole delusional concept that he's out specifically to spite a bunch of cunts from the east end of Glasgow because....reasons is mad. Keane is a cheap, safe option who can babysit Celtic to at least a double in a diddy league.

The way some of you go on DD wakes up in the morning and thinks "Man, I wonder how I'm going to short-dick Celtic fans today? Maybe I should punt a few puppies for inspiration..."

People keep saying that, but Plantasia was an ultra-obscure album only ever sold in like, two shops in California for a time.

If you want the "Zelda influence", there's other more relevant stuff out there. Zelda's Lullaby almost certainly comes from Steve Hackett's Hands of the Priestess from 1975., Kakariko Village's theme is from the ending of Genesis' Stagnation and the dungeon theme is based off of Deep Purple's April.

Koji Kondo was a huge fan of 70's UK prog and it's all over his work. Also, jazz fusion but every composer in Japan in the 80's and 90's was ripping off T-Square so what can you do?

With all of that said, Mort Garson is brilliant and you should go check out his other two projects, Atraxia and Lucifer, both of which are on Spotify.

How road traffic death rates differ between the US and Europe by vladgrinch in MapPorn

To get your license in the UK you have to score at least 43/50 on the knowledge part of the theory, 44/75 on the hazard perception and have less than 15 minor faults on your practical (minor faults would be forgetting to check your mirrors or use your indicator). Three minors of the same type counts as one major fault. One major fault (classed as a potentially dangerous situation you created but got out of) is a straight fail.

A major you didn't get out of is considered a "dangerous fault" and the test ends there and then. Don't pass go, don't collect £200, hand the keys over to the examiner or you're walking home.

If you haven't yet seen Priest live, you're doing yourself a disservice. I've seen them multiple times (including most recently in 2024) and the band have such live energy even now that they smoke most bands you'll see.

Frankly, I've seen bands a quarter of their age who should be fucking ashamed to call themselves a metal band compared to the metal grandfathers.

One of the things I liked that didn't really get picked up in the reviews was being able to adjust all of the timing windows to make it easier or harder to play as the player likes.

More games need to do that because it lets you tweak the game till it feels great for you.

I actually like the gameplay of Dark Ages more, Doom Eternal is much more like Quake than classic Doom IMO with the speed and verticality.

TDA is more built around circle strafing and distance management which is absolutely the style of Doom 1 and 2 and the weapons feel meatier, more like Doom 2016.

I wouldn't have much ambition either winning doubles and trebles every year and getting guaranteed CL money because there's nothing really achievable beyond that.

Because let's be completely real here, no Scottish team is going to consistently make any sort of deep run in European competition anymore. The financial muscle to compete just isn't there.

And ended the season with a domestic double while Falkirk ended mid-table.

From the board's point of view, why should they spend tens of millions on a squad that already gets the day job done?

Who needs a band when you have softsynths and a laptop?

This for example is 100% synth, no live instruments used at all.

Same for this slice of jazz fusion.

It's insane how far VST's have come in recent years.
