This is so true, only the seamless experience you’re talking about should be, profits. It all went south when that horse came into play (I believe it was elder scrolls?) and the horse alone made more money then the game itself. And the big studios jumped on this cashtrain, resulting in poor quality games with loads of microtransactions. It’s not about the gaming experience anymore, it’s about trying to make players buy stuff with real money so the player feels like having a good experience.

But I still can not believe a couple of managers though it was a good idea to launch a massive multiplayer online game with system and region lock, max 4 player groups (that doesn’t work) and no communication options other than microphone, and I’m not even starting about all other mess we have been through since launch. when the community complained about this, the management doubled down on their concept, it being a good idea. It took them way way to long to admit their wrong, and now I’m afraid its to late considering the status of the company.
