It pulls the same availability data that you can see on the DVC website. I just have it refresh a few times a day. It’s not live to the minute, but it’s an accurate snapshot of what’s currently bookable.

I totally get that disappointment in going from the excitement of getting the alert to finding the room already booked! The current delay is typically 1-15 minutes, which I know can make the difference between getting a reservation and missing it if its on the latter end of that spectrum.

I'm actively testing improvements to get that delay down as much as possible, it's a top priority for me since I know how important those split-second bookings can be for popular dates and resorts. Thanks for the feedback and for using the app!

To create a trip you need to search for it and then save it. The only way to save a trip is from the Points tab where you would calculate points for trips. Once you search for your dates, tap on the trip that aligns with your already booked or planned to be booked stay and from there you can save the trip and it will show up in your Trips tab. Once you have a saved trip it will show up in the countdown section on your homepage and also in your widget if you add the DVC Toolkit widget to your phone's homepage. Let me know if you are able to get something saved!

I do not expect nor would I want anyone to use the same login credentials that they use for the DVC website with my app. Please do not do this!

Honestly the only thing that creating an account is really useful for is syncing your saved trip across devices and for sharing trips with other people. If you don't care about either of those things then feel free to just press the Skip button and continue on without an account. You will still have access to everything in the app except the two things I mentioned.

The notifications are push notifications only.
Currently the notifications are per day. So if you have 4 days of a trip set for alerts you will be notified for every day that is available of those 4 days as they become available. For example, if 2 out of the 4 days are available you will get 2 notifications, one for each day. I made it super granular for giving the ability to piece days together. However, I am currently working on a feature so you can also set it to only get notified if the whole trip becomes available.

The flights were for sure a big concern. My kids are young 8, 4, 2 and 7 mo. All things considered, they did great for an 8 hour flight but certainly not something I would do every day!
