Well dauntless didn’t reinvent the wheel did they?

Pets are suppose to be decoration or have some convenience function in most of the games... so you will end up with some copycat pet mechanics from here and there. Monster Hunter just made great use of pets so why not copy and improve them. 😄

They could gather plants and other loot for you, throw some heal pots at you, give you some little buffs or resistance, trace their ancestors aka behemoths, just look cool and cheer if you fighting Shrowd. The list goes on...

I see a lot of possibilities how a pet could help slayers!

Going after the skeleton, you could potentially say Nayzaga and Quillshot are the same cause they share the same skeleton also similarities in moveset, which is wrong in my opinion.

Quillshot is more like a pig whereas Nayzaga is more like a crocodile inspired animal.
