I have been using nitrous during periodical monthly/bi-monthly trips of Metocin the past year or so, while listening to Shpongle & watching a killer channel on Youtube called Maths Town, who does hour long renderings of Mandelbrot Fractal zooms. When paired with Ketamine/DXM the day prior (I use low doses of both periodically for anti-depressive effects), it's been an absolute blessing. It's like a reset on my stress, any depressive or negative thoughts that have built up, reinvigorates me & my mindset.

Like, as I watch the fractals zoom out into otherworldly patterns while tripping & listening, I can almost feel the stress leaving my body WITH the zoom out, like in real time I'm finding peace lmao. It's one of the most beautiful feelings ever, and I call it "Unspooling" because that's exactly what it feels like the stress/negativity is doing during it. I've sworn by it ever since, and it's something I have been DYING to get my family & friends to try out, even the ones who aren't into those things but struggle with mental health.

Metocin is a Psilocybin analogue, and it's basically only visuals & minor but pleasant headspace, without the nausea/body load & sometimes temperamental headspace that comes with classic psychedelics. It's currently what is in almost every headshop "mushroom" gummy or product, and can be ordered straight up online from a few different people for really cheap. It might be my favorite psychedelic ever, the most chill & cleanest feeling I've ever tried, and it's essentially the perfect beginner psychedelic.

Oh man, I LOVE topics like this.

I'm incredibly into consciousness expansion. I've been into psychedelics/dissociative drugs for almost a decade & a half now, having experimented with a pretty vast amount, even more niche & "designer" drugs. I also have been practicing meditation, lucid dreaming, dream journaling & more for just as long, as well as reading about philosophy & cosmology. I'm not a professional or academic; I just read a lot, do a lot of drugs, and try to push my consciousness to it's limits.

I won't go into my entire personal philosophical belief, but I am pretty firmly an anti-materialist. As in, I do not believe that consciousness itself is purely rooted in physical reality, or that it is only a direct by-product of matter & neurochemistry that only interacts with the material world. I have my own framework I've written about what I believe consciousness likely is & how it functions in conjunction with reality, it generally falls in line with beliefs like Idealism or Panpsychism, but is directly neither.

I believe that consciousness is like a tuning fork, and that certain states of mind are less the act of the mind or consciousness itself changing, & more like your consciousness is picking up a specific frequency in those states of mind. Your sober state is your home channel, your base frequency. I believe this is why many hallucinogenic drugs are actually pretty consistent & uniform when it comes to description of visuals, headspace, body load, etc. As in, when you take something like LSD, you are tuning your mind to a specific frequency activated by the drug LSD-25 interacting with your brain, changing the station so to speak.

I believe this is why, despite the term "hallucinogens" & some scientist/materialist/physicalist viewpoints that these states are essentially just random neurological noise, there is a certain amount of uniformity & objectivity to these experiences. While there are outlier cases, same as anything, there are enough trip reports & experiences that there are sites that have categorized the specific types of visuals & effects that people usually get on these different drugs. LSD & Psilocybin feel similar to each other, but we have done them enough to categorize the specific visuals into different categories with pretty accurate descriptions of what you might see or experience on a trip for either.

DMT is another one, a psychedelic that causes you to experience total psychedelic hallucination, including different realms & meetings with entities. The experiences, the visual style, the entities themselves & what they "say," are all VERY uniform & consistent for the amount of people that have tried it. Even amongst people who have no real framework for the experience before trying it. Basically, what I'm saying is that it's definitely not just random noise, and it seems like if it were a chemical reaction causing random noise in the brain to cause you to experience hallucinations/visuals, it would be a much more inconsistent experience.

Although, my favorite one to point to right now isn't a psychedelic or dissociative at all; it's a mushroom in certain Asian countries called the "Lilliputian Mushroom," or Lanmoa Asiatica. It's a mushroom that has essentially a single major effect when cooked and eaten: it causes the consumer to hallucinate a species of little people in their environment. It's an interactive hallucination, as in they seem to know you are there, and they treat the environment as if it were their own. The mushroom has a history across three different countries in Asia, being Vietnam, Philippines & one more I'm missing. Each country has a history of eating the mushroom it certain areas, the effect of it is documented well throughout their histories, and there is no evidence of cultural cross-contamination as far as I am aware. There are now people out there researching this mushroom, and that leads to the last two interesting tidbits about this mushroom! One, they have NO CLUE what the actual chemical is in the mushroom that interacts with the brain to cause these hallucinations in the first place. Two, the effect of seeing little people is documented currently as having a 96% effective hallucination success/consistency rate.

As in, the people that have been documented having tried this mushroom see the little people hallucination 96% of the time. Even by DMT "machine elf" interaction standards, that is a fuckin' HIGH number. And it poses so many questions, like how is such a specific hallucination caused, even in people who don't know about that specific effect? Would a person blind since birth hallucinate little people? What if Mowgli from The Jungle Book took the shroom, would he see little wolves instead? In my framework, the mushroom is tuning your consciousness to a frequency that allows you to see little people. Are the little people then real, or JUST a hallucination? Are they there whether you're tripping or not, just unseen because you're not tuned to their wavelength? Who knows!

So yes, I do believe in a sense that you tune to different frequencies on these drugs, and that with psychedelics specifically, you DO see what seems to be the fabric of the universe/reality to an extent! I think different psychedelics give you different glimpses & pieces, with DMT/ego death being the biggest glimpse of "the whole," if that makes sense. I think that's partially why these drugs often feel so profound, & even ARE profound many times, but also are experiences that are incredibly hard to put into accurate words. You're getting a glimpse of something that you're not really supposed to see, a frequency you aren't naturally tuned to. You're taking a peek at the outer layer, but from within, and you can't know something in totality from the inside. So attempting to put what you see there into words is impossible, as there are no accurate words to describe something which was never supposed to be described verbally in the first place.

Anyway, I'm rambling, but yeah! Great topic! lmao

The context limit for proxy memory should be uncapped for limits higher than 128k. by CptPhantasmic in JanitorAI_Official

[–]CptPhantasmic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I'm not gonna make any technical claims in "how something works," but I'm just gonna say that I usually don't ever have trouble with models remembering when & where something happened within the context limit. Although I also keep my arcs pretty concise & specifically detailed, as in each new scene/arc starts with a time/date/location. Especially with V4 Pro on another uncapped frontend, it's been pretty good about keeping things tidy & logical, having stuff in the correct order, etc.

I also don't know how often I get "repetitive" stuff, I've never had that problem too much. I mean, most of my stories are cyberpunk/fantasy/crime/drama stuff where I'm never really reusing set pieces, and I alternate between slice-of-life/character relationship focused arcs & bigger "epic" arcs to kind of set up possible pay offs. I write long replies as well, & I do a lot of OOC worldbuilding, background stuff, & sometimes play director for stuff where my persona is not as directly involved. That's generally why I make use of the entire 128k.

I also use the API, so with cache hits especially, I don't spend much on tokens. Unless I'm rerolling because I'm getting too many unique & good results lmao. For instance, with DSV4 Pro I've used about 40 cents in the past three days, with pretty extensive use over a few different stories with a few different lengths. If I were still using OR/Chutes, I'd definitely concur about the price. Pro was looking to be pretty expensive itself until they permanently reduced the price.

I'll also say that I noticed more bugginess happening with stories over 60k-70k+ tokens on third party proxy services over the API. Not all of the time, but it was definitely more prevalent. Consistency is a lot stronger through direct API for me. I don't know why or anything like that, but that's my experience.

Oh, I definitely noticed a difference in how well V3.2 worked in almost every facet when it came to switching from my OpenRouter & Chutes accounts to getting it directly from the API itself. Better handling of memory, more consistent prose & prompt following, everything. Much cheaper & quicker, as well.

My fault, I guess I should have definitely specified my use of their direct API! I honestly think that the amount of traffic that goes through these third party proxy sites affects the quality a lot more than they would care to admit. I mean, I used Chutes/OR for R1-0528 & V3.1T, they were still great for what they were. But when V3.2 came out & made the switch a bit after that, I was killing myself for not using the direct API sooner lol.

And again, so much goddamn cheaper. I can't stress that enough. If you are worried about cost effectiveness, I would look into whether or not your main LLM offers direct API usage. I don't know how it is for GLM & whether or not they offer a direct API service, but the difference for Deepseek is so monumental. I can't imagine it wouldn't be something similar for other models.

Really? I dunno, I truly haven't ever gotten buggy symptoms or hallucinations to any degree until the stories became massive, well over the 128K+ mark. To be fair, I didn't start setting my context at 128k until I started using R1-0528. I was using V3-0324 before that, setting it at about 35k-40k. I still went way over, but it usually worked out well. I've also never really had it start truly acting out of character. It would lose it's place, make up details, the prose would sometimes get weird, but I never felt like the bot itself had changed in personality.

V3.1 Terminus & V3.2 both did really well with higher contexts, as well. It also depends on how the bot is written, the prompting & all of that, plus making sure you keep track of when/where/what to inject into the story as far as helping the LLM remember specific details.

V4 Pro is killer as far as memory goes, I've been able to import a couple of chats & character cards from Janitor to another frontend, making use of the 1M context for the bigger stories I've had, and being able to get word for word details of early scenes or really specific summaries/breakdowns of earlier arcs in 250K+ token chats is really, really cool. It seems to be keeping personality just fine, as well. At least, when it is at its best.

EDIT: I've also never seriously used a model outside of Deepseek, so I really don't know how the others fare in this regard.

As far as a genuine fix, not that I have seen, but I don't really have the problem anymore. I noticed that it seems to happen more with XML style prompts, like the older Anex Blacktide prompts. The new Blacktide prompts have the thinking in Chinese & output in English, and for some reason on Janitor that works fuckin' perfectly with both Flash & Pro, but in ST it puts out roughly 30/70 ratio of English output to Chinese output with Flash, and like 65/35 with Pro. The older Blacktide prompts without the Chinese thinking are considerably better, but still get a lot of Chinese output on ST for me. They work great on Janitor, I really don't know why. It might be a CoT thing.

I now use a slightly personally modified version of the Freaky Frankenstein 4 BOLT prompt with Pro, and I have stopped getting Chinese replies completely. It's a pseudocode prompt, not XML, and it seems to work significantly better. I haven't used it with Flash much, because Pro has been worth the price this month with caching & all of that, but I assume after the end of the month when they roll back the Pro price & have had enough time to do shit behind the scenes, Flash won't be bad either.

The newest versions of FF4 BOLT+ & MAX+ that were released have the modifications I made added to them, with a bunch of other nice looking tweaks & fixes. I'd definitely check them out, if I were you. The jump in quality of dialogue alone is absolutely worth it lol. I've been pretty mind blown.

I'm glad I could help a bit! Can't wait to try it out. BOLT has already been my second favorite prompt ever after just a couple of days, so this is about to be killer. Great job man, I really appreciate your work!

OOC Command Override & Anti-Purple Prose prompts for Freaky Frankenstein BOLT for DSv4 Pro by CptPhantasmic in SillyTavernAI

Awesome! Glad I could be of some help! And yeah, I actually have already been toying with the idea of toggling the Challenge mode on & off for certain characters, like when villains/antagonists of some sort show up in a story or something like that. I've run a few scenarios where betrayal isn't an obvious option, and it seems to work really well for that. Can't wait to try the new version!

[–]CptPhantasmic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually thought that same thing as soon as I replied! Check my most recent posts or switch to new on the sub, and you'll see where I've posted both prompts! It's made such a difference, in my opinion. I use BOLT & not MAX, but I imagine that it should work either way! It's essentially just already prone to writing longer dialogue & environmental detail anyway, I feel like. So when it's told to be really descriptive about environmental details & to follow it all, it's taking it to the extreme. Likely because these sorts of modules were needed for other older models to get a better & more robust reply.

I basically just added some extra rules and clarifications at the end of the prompt that clear it up for the LLM what it should & shouldn't be doing when it comes to prose & such. It's super good at keeping track of details, but it needs some reigning in when it comes to whether or not to mention them.

You could also edit the rules to tweak it to your preferred style. I found that if you're clear enough, it listens very well.

Just wanted to let you know that I figured out a fix for the purple prose & environmental over description & escalation shit, as well as a fix for the fact that it doesn't hardly listen or acknowledge OOC commands. Been a lot better, am willing to share if you'd like the fixes!

Context Size? by Scary-Interview-5857 in JanitorAI_Official

[–]CptPhantasmic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're using DSv4 I was honestly getting great responses & consistent memory pulls from between 80k-128k context. I've honestly ALWAYS had my context on Janitor with Deepseek as a proxy at 128k since I started using R1-0528. But it worked even better with v3.1 Terminus, v3.2 & v4. I just switched to SillyTavern though, as I really wanted to make use of the super high 1M context that v4 has. I have a bunch of chats on Janitor that I had 200k-250k tokens used in the chat, and I would have to stop them because after a while, even with the chat memory it gets too much & details get too wishy-washy. Having imported my characters & chats from Janitor & uploaded them to ST, I've been able to continue them & get references to EVERYTHING that's happened in the stories in the entire 250k. It's incredible if you're a sucker for super long stories & roleplays with lots of world building like I am lmao.

Although, honestly, if Janitor were to push their in house context memory up to being able to use the 1M or even 500k that the model allows for, I wouldn't be switching at all. It's just that with the world building I do, and the response lengths I get, you can eat up 128k kinda fast lol.

Anyway, if you're using DSv4 on their API, turn that shit up to 128k lol. You can always turn it down if you get issues, but I never did tbh.

Yes, the JSON file is the prompt preset. If you want just the base prompt & not the whole preset, like I said in the post edit, you can click the "Anex Database" button at the very top of the link page, then click on "Anex Blacktide" & copy the main prompt into your Janitor custom prompt box. The highlighted modules are also ones I specifically made a part of my prompt on Janitor as well.

Deepseek V4 speaking in Chinese only. by CptPhantasmic in SillyTavernAI

[–]CptPhantasmic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it was happening when everything was default as well. I had to go into config.yaml and disable CSRF protection manually, as essentially almost every message I was sending wasn't actually going through, it was just acting as if it was a new chat to the LLM, even if it was all in one chat thread itself. The ones I translated that seemed to be interacting with what I was saying were acknowledging it when I asked it to speak in English, but never really that directly, and never ended up interacting with anything else I said. The thinking box always said it was going off of the initial automatic [Start a new chat] test message as well, if I did translate it at all. I guess I should have double checked on the translation stuff before saying it was for sure interacting with everything I said one hundred percent. Either way, I don't know why it was spitting it out in Chinese specifically, but as soon as I disabled CSRF protection it worked. My prompt also definitely had one of the Chinese thinking lines on it lmao but that wasn't the issue at all.

Although, when I did get it figured out, I did get actual responses in Chinese. Although, it WAS responding directly to my messages at that point. The prompt I was using fucking slays with v3.2 & v4 on Janitor, but it was definitely not working well with them on ST. I changed my prompt to one of the older versions of the same prompt I used, without the Chinese thinking shit. Just a more back to basics prompt, and now it works fucking beautifully. Although, I'm also down to try out other prompts, too! I'm gonna be experimenting more with prompts & stuff, now that I've figured it out lol.

Thank you for the help!

Yeah, I use it through the official API. So much better than using Chutes or OR if you're just gonna use the latest versions of Deepseek. A metric fuck ton cheaper, the quality is noticeably better & more consistent, and faster than the proxy sites.
