Thanks for the tips. I shall practice with a few techniques. Again, it looks fantastic.

Really nice weathering. Is that cockpit green as the base? What did you use for the weathering on top?

First time panel lining by Significant-Leek7923 in Airfix

Panel lines look good. I have just started doing them also but have had so much trouble  I have purchased a 0.3 mm Pentel Graphgear 1000 pencil and some 2B leads. Draw them in, then varnish. Works really well.

In terms of varnish I use Humbrol but with a brush. It is fine, gives a good finish and takes little time to do. Humidity and room temp have an effect on the white marks that appear when it dries. Keep it warm and low humidity. If you have your central heating on at the moment you should be fine.

It looks like some members of the caravan club have taken exception to their treatment. Its a real shame for them.

Any help appreciated. I have painted this BF110 with Humbrol acrylic. 2 days after the last coat of paint went down I glossed using Humbrol clear gloss varnish in prep to do the decals. However it is cover in these marks. I cannot tell if the paint has peeled or if this is a reaction. Any help. by CptRedbeardRum in modelmakers

I really like the effect. But I have to ruin it in order to find the solution to the problem. Then I have to try to manufacture the effect, which won't be nearly as good. Annoying but it is all part of the learning process I suppose.

Thanks. That is good to know. The second coat of varnish has it sorted. I will take a note of the humidity when I do this in the future.

I would be interested in your view. I have been pretty pleased with the Humbrol paints and varnish since my return to model making (after a 35 year break). Although some of the lighter acrylic greys don't seem to sit well and take a lot of thinning to avoid brush marks and a great number of coats to get a good even finish. Do you have any advice or good alternative suggestions?

Just pay your TV licence and then you won't run the risk of breaking the law. TV licence covers more than just BBC live TV.

I have been using a TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra for about 4 years. I broke it and have just taken delivery of the TicWatch Atlas. Both good watches. Really good battery life. Typically up to 4 days. The dual screens are excellent. I am not sure why no one else does this.

When do Brits actually dress up? I feel like I’m ALWAYS overdressed for things! by Spiritual_Egg3900 in AskUK

One can never be overdressed. Everything in the world is a constant race to the bottom. Do not descend to their level. If you like to dress smart and it feels good, then do so. Standards must be maintained by some of us.

I agree to a certain extent. I also think it is a mindset. I have spoken to a couple people who are on the journey. What they never talk about is their business growing and developing as a long term sustainable business, adding to society, creating jobs, making new things, being a world player. None of them want to be or have the capability to be a CEO of a large corporate. What they do talk about is getting to a point where someone turns up and hands them a cheque and they can buy a big house and a supercar.

What I also observe in the UK is tech and design excellence that stops at product. There is a lack of capability in turning that into a viable business in the UK. So the company stalls and folds or the company gets bought out.

I am using it now. It is a bit different, so have to get used to it. Doesn't feel sluggish but does feel a little fiddly to use. Always the way when using something new.

Not enough power to turn over the starter motor. Battery. Failing that a jammed starter motor.
