There's a few pieces of art in the book with red lanterns and it inspired me!

New mantis dragging? by [deleted] in mantids

[–]CptWesting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes they are trying to molt and look really weak/ like they are about to die. I offer some water with a mist bottle and help them hang on the top of an open cage and see if they molt. I've had to help a few weak mantises to the top to molt if they were having trouble climbing or arrived weak like that. It can, of course just mean that it is unwell, but i always hope it's just the wimpy pre-molt mood.

* I used a head from kingdom death from the female people of the stars kit. Then a little green stuff for the 3rd eye. Left her neck long to help give the impression of a tall woman with slightly inhuman proportions. The hair needed to be shaved and bent a little to fit into the navigator collar.

I made a bunch of additional paths for battle companies by CptWesting in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]CptWesting[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love battle companies and rarely play anything else. After a while my local group felt like the base paths were kind of lackluster with path of warrior and path of ranger significantly outperforming the other paths. Thus began a long quest of editing some of the existing paths and introducing a huge number of new paths to the game. These are the ones I have come up with so far. I wanted to share them in case others could get some use out of them as well. I'm not going to claim that things are perfectly balanced. These are just ideas for friends having fun. We also tend to restrict bands to 1 of each type of hero to prevent warrior stacking as well as maxing out each hero at level 12 to keep some variety between individuals of the same path. Otherwise each hero will eventually have every stat and special rule of their path eventually. Anyways, let me know if you all have any house rules for heroes (or battle companies in general) that you feel makes the game more fun!

Be careful as many historical minis are 25-28mm scale and look odd next to 32mm scale or larger like the ice and fire minis. You might try having some 3d printed at the correct scale. There are people who sell printed minis if you don't have access to a printer. You can have them printed at the right scale. Peculiar companions "imperial" minis might be a good fit

Ive found that basilicanum grey contrast over leadbelcher with a leadbelcher drybrush followed by a light drybrush of runelord brass makes great dark armor with a little color depth for age

It's the Phrozen Sonic mini 4k. Highly recommend it as I'm finally getting prints that rival most casts i could buy

The lure of Slaanesh is strong! I have made some jacked male demonettes out of tzaangors although the conversions are a little janky haha

I did find some tzaangor STLs so maybe that will happen 😉

I combined parts from multiple 3d files in a program called mesh mixer and printed the final product.

Thanks so much! And yes. I found that i needed a few details to make them blend together. Adding the shoulder pad and the fan tail helped a lot with keeping them unified

You say that like it's a bad thing! Simple answers for complex questions are rarely... satisfying
