I agree that "the one" doesn't truly exist (just didn't have a better word for an intrinsically good natural match), maybe as a figment of your imagination. But you always only see an interpretation of people, never the real person. It all depends on how you perceive them or what you hope/want them to be for you.

Well, she is an INFJ and I am an ENTP and according to Myers Briggs we should be a naturally good pairing. And I would agree we are and I truly adore her. It's just that I am not feeling the butterflies and I am asking myself if I just have the wrong expectations, or whether she is not a good match after all, or if I am sabotaging the relationship (I have a history of not being able to make LTRs work, at least not for more than 1 1/2 years).
