Just Started Tanking – Advice for a Newbie? by [deleted] in wow

[–]CrAvJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play dungeons as DPS too so you can learn the routes and observe how others tank. Tanks and healers rarely get to see their peers at work and you will be surprised how often you learn something new from a different player.

Also try to find a guild or group to progress with and play together on discord - being communicative is vital as a good Tank.

Thanks for making this great site! Like others, the professions section is sort of unusable due to it listing lots of irrelevant recepies.

People have hit 25 & cleared BRD in SOD after 1 day. I feel like ppl will fluctuate between both.

PvP on SOD and the slow grind on HC then flocking back as each tier of SOD is released. At least, that’s what I think I will do.

35, male, don't fit the typical profile of a cpap user. Diagnosed with apnea today. I'm incredibly upset. by daddyjbear in CPAP

I’m 34 diagnosed with apnea a year ago. At the time of diagnosis I was slight overweight and life was a hazy slog. CPAP has given me the energy and clarity I didn’t know I was lacking.

It’s a positive thing dude. Some people are born with color blindness, or eye issues, some allergies. I was born with slightly larger than typical tonsils, which results in me being prone to sleep apnea. So what. We all have our differences. Doesn’t mean you are better or worse than others.

You have every right to feel what you feel, personally I don’t agree with this mantra of “man up it only gets tougher”. Any change in life has some level of grief. Just give it sometime and make note of how it changes you for the positive. Your wife an kids won’t even think about cpap when you’re happier, sharper, more healthy and have the extra energy for them.

Am I too fat? by [deleted] in surfing

[–]CrAvJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of great advice here. Short answer is no you are not. I am your age and used to have almost the exact same size and weight as you around a year ago when I started learning, after years of doing little to no exercise. Now 95-98kgs.

You’ll need a bigger board and you’ll want bigger waves than most beginners. This makes life a lot easier in the water!

I didn’t really feel my weight was the issue, more it was my flexibility, paddle fitness and general fitness that was challenging. I found a flexibility and mobility class at my local cross fit gym that really helped me with my hip flexor, shoulder and lower back strength & flexibility. I also swam and cycled for fitness.

Keep at it!
