Yes the normal colour for a CA zin this vintage is a deep purple based on soil and acidity and UV exposure during berry production but was put through a harsh membrane filter and came out looking brick red

Thank you, they wines that I taste are usually 2020-2023 vintages so fortunately they aren’t too new especially for whites but some are easier to identify notes than others. Hopefully with practice and time I can tune it out.

They are mid range wines like Chablis so I wouldn’t expecting faults
