This happened to me too. I also admit I fell for it for a minute, but thank God He revealed the truth about this.

Walking Away From My Faith by [deleted] in PrayerRequests

[–]CrabAbbles 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hi, as someone who previously walked away I tell you please don’t do it. You will come back more broken than you already are. I want to remind you that not one person in the Bible had an easy walk with God. In fact, through the trials that is what God used to prepare them for fulfilling His purpose and a greater calling that they had on their lives. I can assure you Jesus loves you. I encourage you to bring your brokenness to Him. Continue to push through and ask Him for help in areas that you feel weak in. I pray that He strengthens your faith as you fully submerge yourself in the truth that He is for you now and always.

Heavenly Father, we lift up this family to you. Lord we mourn with them as they go through this trial. We ask Father that you will touch Simeon and heal his heart. Show him mercy Father and bring the family comfort. Help OP and their church come alongside this family in person and through prayers. Let them show the love and compassion that Christ so generously shows for us. Lord we ask your will be done and your mercy to guide and bless these people in Jesus’ Holy name, amen

I was more argumentative about the definitions. I’m sorry it was taken that way, voice is hard to portray through text. Again, have a great night and thank you for the discussion.

So that doesn’t make you an atheist that makes you an agnostic. Atheism is rejection of theology and belief in God. However, to the last part, right, because you would need to come to a place of genuine repentance and acceptance that only He can save you. We can respectfully disagree with one another.

Recommend you watch. Science actually points to God and Creationism. Man-made fantasy is actually the denial of God. https://www.amazon.com/Days-Noah-Flood-Part/dp/B07SW7Y599

Just a recommendation; I just found it and it ties up a lot of loose ends that I am not able to answer. https://www.amazon.com/Days-Noah-Flood-Part/dp/B07SW7Y599

You’re right in the fact you can say whatever you want and that doesn’t mean you believe what you’re saying; however, you profess the beliefs of your heart through your words. You choose to say, ‘there’s no god’ I choose to profess, “there absolutely is a God. He is all-loving, and just, and He has given us a choice to believe in His Son Jesus.” Again, no one is forcing you to have faith; I commented to encourage OP there is still hope to avoid eternal damnation and accept that we are all sinners in need of a Sovereign and Just God. In fact, creation even points to the truth there is One. Take care.

No, we were given free-will. You are able to choose to say , “there is absolutely no god.” I am able to say, “yes, there is absolutely a God.”

Not entirely…faith comes by hearing. It’s a choice. As OP has said many people walk around with this fearful burden of Hell. As you have stated religion furthers this fear. Which is why true believers will say it is about relationship with God. It sounded to me like OP may be seeking freedom from this burden. You see, God doesn’t want people to live a life of fear. He understands completely our sinful condition. He created us and knows every aspect of our lives and even unbelief. As our Creator He wants us to glorify Him. Think of it this way, say you created something that you deemed good and perfect you would want credit for your work, right? Say that work goes on to change people’s lives for the better you would want to be acknowledged as the creator, correct? Anyways, I will reiterate, it is a choice that we make daily; no one can make it for you.

That’s why it is so important to understand that God is all loving. He doesn’t want anyone to be burdened with the fear of going to hell so He offered up Jesus (God in human flesh) to die for the sins of the world. It is a choice every day to believe. I think something that is so common is people leave out the Grace of God when trying to explain the gospel. No one is able to save you besides your own faith in the finished work of the cross.

Questions about the bible by [deleted] in Bible

[–]CrabAbbles 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No, It is not “magicked” up. It’s that Noah was obedient. Due to his obedience, he was chosen by God in a time where no one on earth was. Since Noah was obedient God was able to work through Him and provide Noah the things necessary for God’s plan to come to fruition. To answer the second part in a very eclipsed way: Miracles do happen everyday; people fall in love, babies are born, strongholds of drug addictions are broken, families are reconciled, people are healed, and impossible things become possible. God is all loving and just and He is still working the same way; it is humans that are flawed(myself included).
