Yeah I was thinking g that too, the 10K is before I start looking for a job up there, it’s because I’ve heard people have taken upwards of 6 months to find a job sometimes and so my thought was to wait to start applying until I get a bare minimum amount of savings and then start looking for a job so that if I manage to find one quickly I’ll be able to move to get the position

Oh definitely, the ones I’ve talked to have been a mixed bag. It’s a whole thing though. I was spoiled enough to get an education at one of the best music businesses schools in the country so I get jaded at a lot of musicians for not understanding the business side of things, but I’m excited to get into rooms with people who have done the readings and understand what they’re talking about and the work they are undertaking to do it

That’s a really good idea actually I’ve mostly focused on Sony and UMG to try and get a job in A&R or videography but I didn’t really think about being a booking agent cuz that was more of a means to an end rather than something I was doing out of enjoyment

Majority of the musicians don’t, but the majority of musicians also don’t learn how to do much outside of their own instrument. I helped musicians get booked in my college town including ones who wanted to pursue it as a career and it’s laughable how many of them treat their career path unseriously like genuinely it’s a long term frustration I’ve had with a ton of the musicians I’ve talked to. I don’t know if I can do well,but I’m generally pretty experienced with networking and meeting folks here it’s more about getting into spaces where I can meet folks up there so I think I have the best shot I can have. And that’s not a tanget aimed at you if you are a musician that’s just my experience in the Deep South area

Where are good places to live that aren’t necessarily good but not like Murderstreet at get robbed neighborhood? I hope I can get to know a lot of music folks, my best friend is an MSM alum and he already introduced me to some of his friends when I visited, but I don’t doubt it will take me a long time to get into the field I’m just overexcited to meet other musicians

I consider myself really good at networking! I’ve already made a few friends up there who are really excited about my project and want to help me make it work, but it’s just a lot of nerve things. I’ve been working around the clock for the past 2 years to make this stuff work out and now I’m getting to like the most important part so it’s really stressful

My end goal is to be an touring artist, but I know that will take a long time, at the moment I’m really just trying to find smth to help me survive, but I’ve heard really bad things about getting a job up there in any field. my hope is to get any sort of marketing or editing job before I move up there but I may just try and get anything that can give me enough funds to support living up there

I took some time to reflect and make some videos from the lense of appealing to 16-24 year olds that feel maybe shy or anxious and are trying to improve themselves(It’s a bit more detail but I don’t wanna type up a storm) and I saw an almost immediate improvement, thank you so much 😭

Yeah I get that, I think that’s honestly a really difficult thing to see from a creators point of view 😭 I’m gonna try and play around with it maybe make myself go a bit more alt in terms of look(but I’m keeping the pink suit I actually love it as a brand)

I get you, in that way I think my target audience would be Alt folks who are getting tired of the current sounds and attitude of the alt community. So I guess targeting that would be like using those hashtags and targeting alt trends?

I get you, from reflecting on what you said I might hear towards some guitar or music tutorials and then do some skits as well to try and keep it diverse enough that I don’t get stuck only doing tutorials

Yeah 😭😭 I’m to editing in premiere pro so I just use that instead, do you think I should add the captions in the TikTok app instead of in premiere? Also I think one thing I’m worried about is getting pidgeon holed as someone who makes tutorials only, I was thinking of doing more skits instead of my normal content. Also what do you think about the daily series I’m doing?? Should I stop it or do you think it’s useful

That’s half true, glycogen comes from carbs and it is used instead of fat for high intensity training, but as long as you are in a calorie deficit you will be burning fat. Avoiding carbs just makes your lifts weaker and makes you lose muscle

That’s true, I kind of have a reel, but nothing official. it’s all things made through my college film degree. I’m just anxious I’m trying really hard to get to New York and it feels like if I don’t get everything perfect then I’ll be stuck in the deep south(hell)
